known as Shiatsu-AliceG now as Aitan-Shiatsu

I have six years of professional practice in orthodox Shiatsu and Acupressure. Over these years I have developed a more holistic approach which considers our emotional and psychological needs. I have therefore adopted the complementary treatment specialties of Movement Shiatsu, and Jin Shin Do®. Movement Shiatsu allows for a more dynamic movement of the joints and limbs during the application of pressure. This variation also enables a more interactive way to facilitate the body to tap into its intrinsic healing capacity. My practice in Jin Shin Do® lends itself better as an intervention for those with PTSD, trauma, chronic health issues, and holistically treating somatic issues from a psychotherapeutic perspective. My own lived experience of trauma, and mental health has been transformed by such treatment forms. I also found that the tactile aspects which are absent from talking therapies conferred a more emotionally secure, comforting, and connecting experience. Consequently, I am now devoted to an ongoing practice to pay forward the physically efficacious, and emotionally nourishing effects of these treatments.

*“Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do ®Bodymind Acupressure® classes teach the use of* gentle yet deep finger pressure on specific acu-points and verbal Body Focusing techniques, to help release “armouring” or chronic tension, balance the “Qi” or energy, and improve vitality. A unique synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acupuncture and acupressure theory**, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), Reichian segmental theory and principles of Ericksonian psychotherapy, it is recognized as a major form of Asian Bodywork Therapy (by NCCAOM & AOBTA ®among others).*** Originated by psychotherapist Iona Marsaa Teeguarden, Jin Shin Do ®acupressure promotes a pleasant trancelike state, in which one can relax and move out of the head and into the body, accessing feelings and inner wisdom. https://www.jinshindo.org

Shiatsu & JinShinDo® can help to reduce stress and find deep relaxation

Today, people often find it difficult to cope with the demands of everyday life. The pressures at work, often difficult harmony between work and private life, create stress and tension in most of us. These pressures are somatized and will begin to show the first signs of inbalance.

With these two amazing techniques of energy balancing the aim primarily is to restore the original state of well-being through promoting and maintaining a good quality of Qi flow. We create a balance between body and mind and spirit. The technique are based on Traditional Chinese Medicine and follows the same principles Points and Meridians on which Acupuncture too.

Trough Redistributing Vital Energy (Qi, re-energizing and balancing) will remove blockages (energy stuck or lack of energy) and re-harmonize the whole system.
