Today on day we stand with our communities to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and reaffirm our commitment: every life matters.🤍

Our Chief Executive, Vanessa Ford, said: 💬

“Too many lives are lost to su***de that could have been saved with timely, compassionate care. Our London mental health strategy puts prevention and patient centred care at the heart of everything we do, whether it’s through expanding 24/7 community support through new neighbourhood mental health centres, closing gaps and offering holistic care for people with substance use needs, transforming inpatient care, or expanding mental health support for our young people in schools. The London mental health system is stepping up to ensure no one falls through the cracks, we want everyone to receive appropriate, person-centred care, in a timely way, when and where they need it.”

A key part of this work is Hold the Hope, a su***de prevention programme where people with lived experience of su***de deliver training and awareness sessions in schools, workplaces, and communities. By sharing their experiences, they help spark conversations, reduce stigma, and equip people to support those in crisis.

- Stronger support for families and carers through new networks and carer champions
- Better support while waiting for treatment
- Investment in staff training to improve respect and compassion

Construction is well underway on our new mental health facilities at Tolworth Hospital!

Earlier this week we welcomed local MPs Sir Ed Davey and Bobby Dean to site. Ed and Bobby took the opportunity to meet colleagues from clinical teams on our existing wards at Tolworth, before reviewing progress on the ground with our construction team Sir Robert McAlpine as we work towards creating five state-of-the-art wards.

Due to open in 2028, these new facilities will support recovery and improve experiences for everyone who uses, works in, or visits our services.
