✨🕯️🫒

All the good things, grow in the dark.
The Winter Solstice (Yule) is a quiet, ancient turning point; the longest night and the gentle rebirth of the light.
This is the time to sow your seeds.
March out into the darkness and trust that what you plant now, will bloom when it's time.
However you spent your Winter solstice, remember that on the longest night,
we honour the darkness.
Not as something to fear,
but as a place of rest, renewal, and becoming.
May you trust the dark as a womb, not a void.
May all that has been heavy be gently laid down.
May all that has ended be released with gratitude.
As the light slowly returns,
may hope return with it - quietly, steadily, and true.
May we trust the turning of the seasons,
the wisdom of waiting,
and the promise that even the smallest light
knows how to grow.
May warmth find us,
peace hold us,
and the coming days bring just enough light
for the next step forward.
So it is.

I’m not great at posting on social media.
Days can pass before I even think to open certain apps.
Apparently, I’m meant to have an “online presence,”
but anything that feels forced feels inauthentic to me…
and that’s the opposite of how I choose to live.

A few months ago, I was hospitalised for nearly two weeks.
A respiratory virus, followed by Influenza A, that knocked me flat.
It wasn’t the nicest of experiences - but it was a reflective one.

I started saving the little paper medicine cups I dreaded seeing multiple times each day.
I painted them into tiny windmills and made paper flowers from others.
The nurses would say, “You’re so creative!”
But it wasn’t about art, it was about transmutation.

Turning something I feared into something tender.
Colouring the clinical. Offering a smile, a softness, a flicker of hope.

Because sometimes, when life hands us what feels like the worst: pain, fear, uncertainty -
our task isn’t to pretend it’s good,
but to alchemise it.
To sit with it. To reshape it.
To gently fold it into something that carries beauty, connection, even joy.

And this is how I move through my Reiki practice, too.
I’m not willing to market myself in ways that feel disconnected from who I am.
I trust that those I’m meant to work with will find me, and that our meeting will be in alignment.

In the meantime, I’ve been working quietly on other projects, ways of holding space for others that feel deeply sacred.
I consider it a privilege to walk alongside people
in those moments of vulnerability, healing, and rediscovery.

So while my presence online might be quiet,
my heart is fully in the work. 🌸

One of my favourite things is to see flowers growing out of cracks; the sides of buildings; railway tracks - basically, anywhere they 'shouldn't' be.
It always makes me smile. The flower doesn't know it's not 'supposed' to grow there, it just does, despite its concrete surroundings, and its lack of the 'right' environment, it grows anyway like a great big F you, to anyone that says it can't; I feel that, every time.
Don't let people tell you when, where, how or why. Bloom because you can. Dig your feet in the ground and reach for the sun, because you're worthy of beauty. Even when the world feels harsh and ugly, especially, because the world feels harsh and ugly.
Be that beautiful flower in the middle of that concrete jungle, because I promise, it will make those who really see you, smile.

Spring is the time we should be setting our intentions and our 'New Year Resolutions'. We are not supposed to be planning ahead in the dark winter months. That's the time for rest, reflection and recalibration. Spring is when we literally 'spring' into action. So now is the time to set those intentions, then let them go, what's for you, won't pass by you.
Now is the time to blossom, to bloom, to come into you.
