Some doctors think nurses go to nursing school to learn bed making, vital signs, medicine administration and toileting patients.

You know why?

Imagine a nurse commenting on one of my videos that she will administer “whatever the doctor prescribed”.

This nurse with this type of mindset will not bother about knowing the medications she is administering to the patients talk more of identifying a prescription error.

Dear student nurses, please don’t be that type of nurse!

You made a simple mistake at work, and moments later, you hear your colleagues g0ssip1ng about it🥹

A friend of mine is planning to resign from her new workplace because every time she makes a small mistake, her nurse colleagues g0ss1p about her mistake.

According to her, this has happened more than once and she said she just can’t work in that kind of environment.

Have you ever experienced this before and what’s the best approach?

Dear Student Nurses on Placement, Please Read This

Remember, you are on placement to learn, not to replace the nursing staff.

Your placement is a learning experience, not a job shift.

Never perform a procedure or nursing task that you are not trained or permitted to do.

And whenever you’re carrying out any nursing task, it should always be under the direct supervision of your mentor or preceptor.

It’s okay to ask questions. It’s okay to say, “I’m not sure.”

That’s how you learn safely and grow confidently in your practice.

I’m so emotional right now 🥹

I didn’t know the impact my videos would have on nurses until today ….

A newly qualified nurse just texted me and told me how she was to administer IV Furosemide to her patient, but she remembered that I said in one of my videos to always check potassium levels before giving furosemide.

She quickly checked the most recent potassium level and guess what? It was very low!!

She immediately went to the doctor and showed him and he was like “sorry, we should have stopped the furosemide yesterday, it’s an oversight”.

According to her, the doctor was very pleased that she didn’t give the furosemide and since then, she noticed that the doctor has been giving her a lot of respect 🫡.

I almost cried and at the same time, I’m proud of her.

I didn’t know how much my videos can help the students and newly qualified nurses until today.

Thank you all for all your support. I really appreciate.

The Most D@ngerous Phrase in every shift😂

The phrase nurses mostly avoid in every shift is….

“It’s been quiet.”

You don’t say it out loud.
You don’t think it too confidently.
And you definitely don’t say it near the nurses’ station🤣

Because the moment you do, everything changes.
Call bells ring. Admissions arrive. Something unexpected happens😫

Quiet isn’t calm.
It’s just the pause before ch@os🤣
