💚 Awwh what a whirlwind last weekend was💚
Catching up with friends, training, and our annual awards night at the Mini First Aid conference ✨

One week on… and we’re still so buzzed! 🥹💫

Things can happen in the blink of an eye…
and that’s why when I heard about Mini First Aid, I knew I had to be part of it - supporting families and anyone looking after little ones 🥰👶

On Saturday night we were awarded
Parent & Carer Class Franchisee of the Year 2026 ✨🏆

And I still can’t quite believe it… what a year it’s been for us 🥹💫

We just love what we do and feel so privileged…
Every week we meet people when they’re nervous, anxious, or overwhelmed, and we get to build their confidence so they leave prepared and ready if faced with an emergency 💚⛑️

Well… the best kept secret is out! 🤩

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Sara Davies to our annual conference today! What a full-circle moment for Mini First Aid since our journey began on Dragons' Den.

Having Sara as our investor has been incredible, and seeing her pop in to support us all meant so much. I thought I was having a fan girl moment… but I think Vanessa Mini First Aid Southampton next to me nearly fell off her seat! 😂

Huge congratulations to our founder Kate Ball - Noah's Ark Family and hubby Matt who attended the Elite Franchise Top 100 Awards last night.

Mini First Aid was nominated for a Diversity & Inclusion award. Although we didn’t win on the night, we are incredibly proud of the work we’ve done to ensure we are the most inclusive first aid training provider in the UK. It’s something that really matters to us.

They were also presented with our certificate for being named in the Top 100 franchises in the UK. With over 1,000 franchise brands across the country, making the Top 100 is a huge achievement. 👏

We are so proud to be part of the Mini First Aid family and to work alongside such a passionate team, helping give parents, families and carers the confidence and skills to save lives. 💚⛑️

Endometriosis is a chronic gynaecological condition that affects around 1 in 10 women of reproductive age in the UK (that’s around 1.5 million women).

Many of us still don’t really understand what it is, what the symptoms are, or when painful periods might actually be something more, and many women also report feeling dismissed when they talk to medical professionals about their pain.

One of our lovely Mini First Aid team members, Charlotte, has lived with endometriosis since her early teens. She’s bravely shared her story to help other women feel less alone - and more empowered to seek support. ⛑️💚

Stair gate ✅ cupboard locks ✅ high-chair straps ✅ purse.....😬

You might think you have it covered when it comes to babyproofing your home. It's common sense, right?

You install the baby gate, you make sure your high chair has the right straps, you fit locks on the cupboard doors...but what about the coins in your purse or wallet? What about the paracetamol you leave in your handbag or bedside drawer? What about that TV remote control with the easy-open battery compartment?

There are so many everyday objects and items in our house that could pose a risk to our baby or toddler - a risk of choking, poisoning, burning, cutting, or falling.

Accidents will happen, and we can't always prevent them, but we can be as careful as we possibly can when it comes to everyday items in our household that our curious toddler or explorative baby might get hold of.

Take a look around your home today. Are the tall bookcases and cupboards fixed to the walls, are your hair straighteners out of reach, is your handbag or purse somewhere that your child could easily reach?

What if first aid could help a child feel like they truly belong?

This week is Children’s Mental Health Week 💛

I’ve had the privilege of working with three different schools, and one phrase really stayed with me:

“This is my place.”

There were so many conversations about belonging - about children feeling seen, valued and knowing they matter.

In our first aid sessions, yes we teach CPR.
Yes, we teach the recovery position.

But we also build confidence.
We build resilience.
We build that little voice that says, “I can do this.”

When a child stands up to demonstrate in front of their classmates… that’s bravery.
When they encourage a friend during a practical… that’s kindness.
When they tackle a topic that felt scary at first… that’s growth and resilience.

First aid isn’t just about emergencies.
It’s about helping children feel capable and confident in themselves.

Because when a child feels capable, they feel like they have a place. 🥰

Oh my goodness… this was definitely not on our 2025 bingo card! 🎉

Last week I had the amazing opportunity to record content with BFA as a Finalist in the HSBC UK British Franchising Awards 2025 🌟

I’m so proud (and still a bit pinching myself!) to be recognised in the Franchisee of the Year - Star Performer category. 💚

Can’t believe this is my job and, I’m so lucky to have an amazing team who love it just as much as me! A huge thank you to my wonderful Mini First Aid Family for always cheering me on, and to everyone who supported me through the filming process (the film team definitely had their work cut out with all my nervous giggles! 🙈).

Now I can’t wait to celebrate with all the finalists later this year! 🥂

From 2026, questions about life-saving first aid will be included in the DVSA’s driving theory test - why not brush up on your skills by learning first aid with us! It's one thing to memorise instructions from a textbook and another to learn the practical skills needed to understand exactly how to perform CPR and use a defibrillator.
