We had a fantastic annual BBQ at Amberley Lodge yesterday, and it was a wonderful day for both residents and the community.
Our head chef, Gilroy, and the kitchen staff delivered exceptional food that everyone raved about. Eleanor captivated us with her beautiful voice, providing entertainment that truly delighted all attendees.
It was a day to remember!

The sun was shining brilliantly on Jamaican Independence Day this Wednesday, setting the perfect scene for celebration. It was an unforgettable afternoon packed with laughter, delicious food, refreshing drinks, and vibrant music. We couldn't have asked for a better way to honor Jamaica's 63 glorious years of independence!

This afternoon, we took several residents to Dobbies Garden Centre in our minibus.

Once we arrived, we enjoyed tea and coffee together before exploring the shop and admiring the various plants. One of the residents decided to purchase a plant to decorate their room.

Everyone said they had a fantastic time and would love to visit again.

At Amberley, we offer a variety of clubs, ranging from knitting to art.
We want to highlight another club: the Man Cave.
The Man Cave provides an opportunity for the men in our home to socialise together while enjoying games and refreshments.

Today, we decided to recreate the Man Cave experience in the lounge.

At Amberley, we take great pride in our stunning garden, featuring a diverse array of plants in both the front of our home and throughout the grounds. Our head chef, Gilroy, has expertly planted and maintained this vibrant space. Our residents actively participate, assisting with watering the plants.

Yesterday, we had an incredible afternoon dance! The funky fiddler joined us once again, and we all had a fantastic time. Residents, staff, and relatives were out on the dance floor, shaking their legs and truly enjoying the moment. It was a wonderful celebration of joy and togetherness!

We took the phrase ice cream ‘Sundae’ and turned it to ice cream Sunday this gone weekend at Amberley Lodge 🍦 Our residents visited our coffee shop that had been transformed into Amberleys very own Ice Cream parlour!! 🍨

Yesterday at Amberley, we hosted an engaging still life painting class that showcased the residents' impressive skills as they painted the objects in front of them. They thrived on the opportunity to mix colors, creating unique shades, and fully embraced the creative process with enthusiasm. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved!

What a beautiful Saturday at Sherwood Preschool summer fair 🍦Sean and Anne spent the day hosting memory games while explaining the difficulties of living with dementia 💜 We had some real brainiacs on our hands with our prize stash going down a little to fast! 😅
