This is a deeply saddening and troubling incident—one that should never have happened. Yet, with the growing concerns around unregulated products and procedures, it was, unfortunately, only a matter of time.

1. Loss of Collagen and Elasticity:The production of collagen and elastin declines, leading to wrinkles, sagging, and a loss of firmness.

As a Desi brown woman, I deeply understand the psychological impact of struggling with acne, hyperpigmentation, and melasma. My own lived experiences have fueled my passion for understanding melanin-rich skin and providing effective treatments for hyperpigmentation in skin of colour.

Modern sunscreens often contain a combination of chemical and physical ingredients to provide broad-spectrum protection against both UVA and UVB rays and can have additional protection from Infrared rays and visible light (HEVL) .
Chemical sunscreens absorb high UV radiation, converting it into low energy and releasing the energy as heat, while physical sunscreens (like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide) reflect and scatter UV rays ( they can also absorb UVrays and disintegrate them )

These mixed formulations are recommended to be applied 15-30 minutes before sun exposure, most modern sunscreen work straightaway.

It’s also essential to reapply every two hours, especially after swimming, sweating, or towel drying, for effective protection throughout the day.

Sunscreen should also be applied 365/366 days in a year/ leap year even indoors .
