The first baby of 2026 was born at Hadassah Mount Scopus at 00:01!

Shira Lea and Ori Rozman from the community of Dolev welcomed their son, born just one minute into the new calendar year in the delivery room at Hadassah Mount Scopus.

The sweet baby, weighing 2,884 grams, was delivered with the care of midwives Odelia Mandelovitz and Rachel Zneivert. He is the couple’s fifth child, and his siblings are eagerly waiting for him at home.

“I had a wonderful birth with an amazing team, thank God. Everything went smoothly, and it was a beautiful experience,” says Shira, who is a teacher.

“I wish for all of us that, God willing, the people of Israel continue to grow and flourish.”

Jerusalem’s historic YMCA recently transformed into a centre for life-saving training as the Hadassah Medical Organisation, supported by Hadassah International, led a two-day emergency-medicine bootcamp for regional doctors, nurses, and residents.
The programme was led by Dr. Ahmad Nama, Director of Emergency Medicine at Hadassah Ein Kerem, who guided participants through critical procedures, rapid decision-making drills, and expert-led workshops.

“This bootcamp closes a strong year for our ER and prepares us for even greater excellence ahead,” he shared.

Dr. Nama - an advocate for global medical collaboration - is also the founder of AEMIS, an international emergency-medicine skills course that continues to grow, reaching participants from 16 countries. This fall, he also chaired JEMAC, the Jerusalem Emergency Medicine Acute Care Conference, which brought together over 400 professionals from Israel and abroad.

Both AEMIS and JEMAC received CME accreditation, reflecting Hadassah International’s commitment to advancing worldwide emergency-medicine education and strengthening global healthcare.

Hadassah UK are excited to share that our recent research was featured in The Jewish Chronicle

A major new report, Trauma and Recovery in the Face of October 7th, presenting the first comprehensive UK-based analysis of the psychological impact of the October 7 attacks, the subsequent war, and rising antisemitism on the UK Jewish community, was released by Hadassah UK this month.

Dr Shiri Ben-David, Chief Psychologist at Hadassah Medical Organization and co-author of the report, spoke to the Jewish Chronicle about some of the key findings highlighted in the study.

What began as a small public health movement in pre-state Israel has grown into a global network advancing medical excellence and compassionate care worldwide.

Her Legacy Lives On! Today, Hadassah International carries Henrietta Szold’s mission across continents - strengthening medical innovation, promoting global health partnerships, and supporting the lifesaving work of the Hadassah Medical Organisation.

Now, 165 years after her birth, her vision and leadership continue to guide every programme, campaign, and global relationship.

We honour Henrietta's extraordinary contributions - not only to Israel and the Jewish people, but to global medicine and the countless lives touched by Hadassah’s reach.

Hadassah Medical Centre, welcomed The SKIES delegation who represent future global champions of Israeli innovation.

They visited Hadassah’s Endovascular Neurosurgery Unit, one of the largest and most advanced in Israel. Led by Prof. José Cohen, the team remains on call 24/7, ready to move within minutes because in neurovascular emergencies, every second is a life reclaimed.

Next, they stepped into the Hadassah Cardio-Vascular Technology Innovation Centre, guided by Dr. Dean Nachman - a true “one-stop-shop” where new cardiovascular technologies are imagined, tested, and accelerated toward real-world impact.
