The wellness industry frequently extracts practices like energywork and chakra healing while overlooking the South Asian lived experiences that shaped them. This creates a disconnect between modern "body culture" and the actual origins of these systems.

In a recent interview with Schumacher, we addressed this gap. We examined the reality of navigating the wellness world as South Asian practitioners and how to reclaim the depth of energy work in a space that often prioritizes surface-level aesthetics.

Most people think they come to dance. They think dance is just movement. For me, it’s never been about the steps or looking good on the floor.

Last week of my NHS yoga training… and it’s been a whole vibe 👀
We’ve been deep in:
Class management.
Holding a safe space.
Environment.
Language + vocabulary.
Keeping it secular.
Handling incidents, accidents & adverse events.
Nothing wildly new for me, and I rate seeing how things evolve… what’s been upgraded, what the NHS actually requires in real time.
What’s really got my attention, though
Forging partnerships with the Primary Care Network:
– Practice Managers
– Lead GPs
– Patient Champions
– PPGs
– Social Prescribers
And zooming out into the wider system:
CCGs, Foundation Trusts, Health Boards…
The funding side? 👀
Yeah… that’s been interesting.
It’s already feeding ideas into how I shape my CIC and expand this work in a way that actually lands inside the system, not just alongside it.
Bridging wellness + healthcare feels like the future.
