Catherine Arnold Nutrition

Catherine Arnold Nutrition Functional Medicine and Nutritional therapy for optimum health and wellness Diet and lifestyle change takes time. Consultations take place online via skype.

Nutritional Therapy aims to help people achieve optimum health through diet and lifestyle change. I have seen people at clinic for many health issues, asthma, allergies, autoimmune illnesses, gut health issues, high cholesterol, diabetes, insomnia, fertility, stress, PCOS, pregnancy nutrition advice, unexplained gut pain, joint pain, and more. Nutritional therapy is not a quick fix but if you give it time and stick with it, it can have a transformational effect on your health. Although a lot of my clients feel better very quickly, I would normally allow at least 3 months to see the effects of these positive changes, longer if I am working with someone with chronic disease. It’s like peeling the layers of an onion, working our way round the body to optimise function where we can and giving the body time, to heal itself. So for this reason, I like to work with clients over a minimum 12 week period. The 12 week programme I offer includes an initial 1 hour consultation followed by 8 x 30 minute follow up consultations spread over 12 consecutive weeks. Consultation dates and times are prearranged and you can pay either monthly or a lump sum at the beginning. For details on prices, take a look at my website: https://catherinearnoldnutrition.com/what-i-do/consultations/

More information about Functional Medicine is on my website. I am a full member of BANT (British Association for Nutrition and lifestyle medicine) and also on the CNHC (Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council) register. The Department of Health recommends that people requiring a complimentary health therapist, use CNHC registered practitioners. CNHC registration is recognised for reimbursement with some private health cash plan providers such as Health Shield & a number of specific employer plans with Westfield Health.

If you had told me back in 2007 as I sat by hospital bed, that not only would he survive leukaemia, and go on to have a career in the music industry where he was able to thrive, but that one day I would be flying to Ibiza to join him as a nutritional therapist and functional medicine practitioner to help more music industry people stay well and live their healthiest lives whilst doing the job they love – I would never of believed you!

After a 15 year career as a TV director I understand first hand what it’s like to work in a really fun, creative industry – where you feel so delighted and privileged to be doing it for a living, that you sacrifice your health to get the job done well.

I can tell you, after supporting a loved one through a cancer diagnosis, nothing is more important than your health. So, you have to work out how to prioritise your health and wellbeing AND enjoy your career. It’s absolutely possible, as has proven! 17 years in remission this year ❤️❤️❤️

At 2pm on Wednesday 23rd April in the area, I will be talking about how to optimise brain health and stress resilience and I am delighted to be joined for a conversation with who feels equally passionate about nutrition and health and is sharing his journey where he also transformed his health to enable him to continue doing what he loves!

As if it couldn’t get any better, I will be offering FREE 30 minute consulations for all delegates throughout the conference, so if you are attending, do email me to book in. Catherinearnoldnutrition@gmail.com or find the contact link in my profile link! You’ll find me round the pool, see you there! 🙏🏻❤️

So after a huge effort our little town, Manningtree has been granted bathing water status! ⁣

It seems that bacteria is one of my special interests in life 😂 if I am not dealing with optimising my clients gut bacteria and looking at stool test results, then I am campaigning for the bacteria in our river to be safe for us to swim! ⁣

Our waterways in the U.K. are unfortunately used as part of the sewage system process. Something which I think ultimately needs to change. Our swimming group, , with the guidance of campaigned for and have now achieved bathing water status for our little beach. This is just the first step in understanding what bacteria there is in our river and whether the levels could be harmful. It also means will be legally obliged to investigate and address the polluting levels.⁣

So as a bathing water designation, the water off our beach will be tested for E. coli and enterococcus bacteria which are markers of sewage pollution. During bathing water season, this will be tested weekly from May to September and given a rating from poor to excellent. It will not clean the water up overnight, but it’s a really positive step in the right direction! We hope that eventually, new legislation will support cleaner waters in the U.K. but for now, this is a good start! ⁣

We have also, been working with the University of Essex on a water testing research programme, in the Stour, where we swim as well as other waterways across Essex. This is to build a picture of the microbial levels and to understand more about the ecosystem of bacteria in there. This research will look at how pollution, not just sewage but antibiotics and other medications and chemicals that find there way into the water impact the health of the waterways. Rob Ferguson who is running the research project has a special interest in antimicrobial resistance (AMR) which is expected to be a real problem. By 2050 it’s predicted AMR will cause more deaths than cancer, so this is valuable research.⁣

Here’s what previous talk attendees said:⁣

Following Catherine’s brilliant and informative 45 minute talk I had a plan of how I was going to change my diet. I can honestly say that after just a week of changing my diet I was less bloated, sleeping better and had more energy, which is important to me as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. I’m also feeling more in control of my diet having lost the desire for sugary foods. ⁣

Kevin Massey, Essex⁣

Thank you for your wonderful nutrition talk which I found enlightening, motivating and myth busting.⁣
I was particularly fascinated by the health and healing benefits of certain foods, especially in relation to the regulation/support of hormones (being a woman of a certain age)!⁣

I was very moved by your own story which demonstrated beautifully the importance of looking after ourselves and putting the right stuff in our bodies (and the bad stuff to avoid)⁣

Angela, Essex. ⁣

If you can’t attend the talk in person but are interested then drop me an email as if I have enough people I could organise an online talk. ⁣
