TCS London Marathon week is here!

At this stage, hopefully all the hard work has been done.

This week is about preparing to be at the start line feeling as fresh as possible, not trying to squeeze in one last big session.

Keep things moving, stay loose, prioritise sleep, and trust the training you’ve already done.

That usually goes a lot further than panicking this week.

It’s Chiropractic Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is the patient stories you never forget.

For us it's quite often someone who had been putting up with pain or niggles for longer than they needed to, assuming it was just something they had to live with.

Then, after the right assessment and treatment plan, they’re back moving comfortably and doing the things they love again.

We’re grateful to everyone who trusts us with their care and shares their experience with us.

A lot of people notice that niggles are often the same side.

The same shoulder. Same hip. Same side of the back, it’s not usually random.

But it can sometimes just be the way you move, sit, train, or load your body day to day.

One side ends up doing a bit more than the other.

Small things like switching sides, changing position more regularly, or adding a bit of movement usually help balance things out.

We see quite a few people with things that won't completely go away.

It might ease off for a bit, then come back again, such as plantar fasciitis, tendon pain, that kind of thing.

Shockwave is something we sometimes use in those situations.

It helps kickstart the body’s own healing response and can work really well for longer-standing issues.

It’s not for everything, but when it is the right fit, people often notice a difference pretty quickly.

Walking is one of the most underrated things you can do for your body.

People often look for something more complicated - stretches, exercises, routines, when actually just moving a bit more day to day makes a real difference.

It helps keep things moving, reduces stiffness, and gives the body a chance to settle.

It doesn’t have to be a long walk or a big plan.

Just getting out for 20–30 minutes can help more than people expect.

Monday check-in.

Sometimes people feel great after the weekend - more sleep, a bit more time to move.

Other times it’s the opposite: a long run, a gym session, DIY, gardening, or just a lot of sitting catching up on work.

However your body’s feeling today, a bit of gentle movement usually helps it settle back into the week.

Nothing complicated, just a soft reminder to move.

We’re so grateful to receive this incredible client feedback.

Helping people understand what’s happening in their body, and supporting them in feeling more comfortable and confident again, is exactly why we do what we do.

Huge credit to Zoe for the care and attention she brings to every appointment, and thank you David, for taking the time to share your experience.

Most of the tightness and stiffness people experience doesn’t come from one specific moment.

It usually builds up gradually through long hours sitting, busy weeks, training, commuting - life. And not quite enough recovery in between.

Quite often, the body adapts quietly until something starts to feel different.

That’s why small, regular movement and paying attention early makes such a difference.

We see a lot of patients with running-related niggles at this time of year.

As mileage builds and routines become more consistent, the body needs time to adapt to the extra load.

Most issues don’t come from one bad run, they build gradually when recovery, strength, or mobility get left out.

A few simple things help:
• Increase mileage gradually
• Add some basic strength work
• Keep mobility consistent
• Listen to early signs of tightness

Small habits now help you stay running comfortably later.

❤ If you’re stuck for Valentine’s ideas our vouchers can make a fantastic gift.

They can be used for massage, acupuncture, physio or chiropractic care - so it’s something they’ll actually use.

We see a lot of people who work long hours, train hard, or carry a lot of tension without realising it. A bit of time to reset can make a real difference.

Sometimes the most thoughtful gifts are the practical ones.

Just give us a call or pop into the clinic.

When we talk about consistency, we don't mean doing everything perfectly.

We mean small things, done regularly - moving often, recovering properly, and paying attention to how your body feels.

That's what helps people stay active, avoid injuries and setbacks, and feel better long-term.

Despite the name, tennis elbow is a lot more common in people who type, scroll, lift, or grip things all day, not just athletes or people who play tennis.

If the outside of your elbow feels sore when lifting a kettle, opening jars, or shaking hands, that’s often the clue.

What helps early on:
🔹 Reduce heavy gripping for a short period
🔹 Gentle forearm stretches
🔹 Ice if it’s feeling irritated
🔹 Gradual strengthening once pain settles

It’s one of those issues that can respond well when caught early, and tends to linger when ignored.
