A two-minute brush 🪥 may not be enough to remove any leftover food debris that has become stuck in between the teeth and gum line. That is why flossing should also be part of your daily cleaning routine. 🦷
Here are 5️⃣ important tips to remember when flossing your teeth:
◾ Use around 45cm of dental floss and wind it around 1 finger of each hand. Holding the floss tightly between your thumbs and forefinger.
◾ Slide the dental floss gently between the teeth curving the floss around the base of each tooth, making sure you go beneath the gum-line.
◾ Never force the floss between the teeth or floss aggressively, as you risk damaging your gums, which can cause them to bleed.
◾ Follow a regular pattern so you don’t miss any teeth, i.e. starting with the top teeth, moving from left to right and then moving onto the bottom teeth, moving from left to right.
◾ If you are struggling to use dental floss, interdental brushes or dental tape are great alternatives.
