Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss is an ENT EMERGENCY 🚨
This is usually unilateral, followed by tinnitus and possibly dizziness as well.
Do not delay seeing a hearing specialist if you notice that something is not quite right.
If no wax, otitis externa or otitis media are found, use of steroid is the right treatment to be administrated and better still if given before 72 hours of the onset, when the chances of recovering the hearing- at least partially are higher.

Sad statistic! The stigma goes on. Unfortunately, this photo with a very old model of hearing aid doesn’t help.

A hearing loss charity said the findings of the poll are evidence of the "stigma and misunderstanding" people go through on a daily basis.
