Our Story

Shamanic Space offers spiritual Peruvian tours including Ayahuasca, San Pedro, Psilocybin ceremonies and shamanic educational, practice based workshops.

Michele Costa-Lukis brings her expertise of twenty years as a practicing psychotherapist, Shamanic and energy practitioner whose work has led her around the world, studying many varied traditions over the past twenty years. She regularly holds workshops in the UK and works alongside Dr. Ruben Orellana as a guide.

Ruben having majored in chemistry and social sciences is an expert on the historical and contemporary aspects of San Pedro shamanism and healing in Peru. Ruben spent twenty-two years as head curator of Machu Picchu where he is credited with the discovery of forty-four new sites. Ruben’s knowledge of the site is unparalleled and he will be there to guide you and answer any questions you may have. In addition to his academic credentials as a historian and scientist, Dr Orellana is a practicing shaman himself, studying with the healers or Paqo (Shaman) of the Andes from the age of seven.

Ruben’s knowledge of healing plant medicine and ceremonies has been passed down through generations of Andean tradition. When Michele once asked Ruben how many times he had conducted San Pedro ceremonies, he paused and said “over eight hundred”. “My greatest joy is to share the knowledge that I have discovered through my work as an archaeologist and an anthropologist alongside the teachings of wisdom from my shamanic path. My spiritual path is to preserve the ancient Andean wisdom of my country and to bridge the understanding of these traditions into the modern world. This is of utmost importance to me.”
