In 2002 after the tragic murder of my dad, I decided I wasn't going to soak up the sorrow and withdraw into a shell but instead focused my energy in an area I truly loved and which strengthened both my mind AND my body. I certified with Stott Pilates in 2005, to teach both Mat and equipment Pilates, and now teach on varying apparatus such as the Reformer, Caddilac, Barrels and Chairs.
The motto βGet out of Pain and Danceβ applies because Pilates has not only helped me overcome my own pain, but also strengthened others specifically those suffering with common problems such as lower back pain and postural issues such as Scoliosis. With chronic diseases also affecting our quality of life, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and exercising is no longer an option, it's a necessity. By relieving stress, improving posture and reducing tension, Pilates helps to boost your self confidence and increases your agility so you feel more upbeat. It is a great option for those looking for low impact exercise that works the body from inside out.
