Information on rosacea

Rosacea is a vascular disorder which causes persistent skin redness, red bumps, dilated blood vessels and a thickened skin texture.

There are well-known factors that cause rosacea to flare up, but the triggers are highly individual from person to person. While there is no cure for this condition, there are ways to manage it.

Start by identifying what triggers your rosacea. It can be stress, extremes of temperature, exercise, alcohol, caffeine, spicy food, acidic food, dairy products, or even certain cosmetics. Keep a diary and look for patterns to make dietary or lifestyle changes to minimise future flare-ups.

Stick to very gentle products for your daily skin routine such as our Ultra Soothing Range. Avoid using face scrubs which aggravate skin. Instead, use a powder-based enzymatic exfoliant such as our Micro-fine Daily Exfoliant, which gently dislodges skin cells without friction.

When treating and managing rosacea, less really is more. Stick to a small number of products that suit you and avoid over complicated formulas with a long list of ingredients.
