Vrksasana

Radicarsi, crescere, resistere.

Vrksasana – Tree Pose 🌳
In yoga, the Tree invites us to root deeply so we can rise with balance and grace. The roots of our practice sustain the upper body and open the mind toward the sky.
Physically, this asana strengthens legs, improves balance, and sharpens concentration, while inwardly it teaches focus, resilience and groundedness.
Trees are more than symbols: in people’s lives, they hold memory, continuity, and power. Think of the olive trees in Palestine, representing resilience and belonging. To uproot a tree is to attempt to attack an identity. To plant one is an act of care, resistance, and rooted presence.
Root. Rise. Resist.

On Anger, Truth & the Courage to Stand on the Right Side of History

In recent months, many 'celebrities' have begun speaking about the ongoing g3noc!de in G@za. But when I listen, I notice — there is no anger. Their words are about “sadness” and “heartbreak.” They are modelling passivity to the masses. They say: be sad for P@l3st!nie, but ignore it for a while first, and then, years later, talk about it quietly, with melancholy.

This is dangerous. It tells people to treat what is happening as an inevitable tragedy that has already occurred. But it hasn’t. This is not an “accident” or an unavoidable disaster. It is a crime — still happening, in real time, in front of us.

I cannot contain what I feel. My soul feels split open, and pouring ancient tears and deep sounds. The anger I feel is alive, necessary. It is survival. It is self-defence. It is resistance.

In the language of yoga, we speak of satya — living in truth. This means seeing reality clearly, even when it is uncomfortable. Grief is still, internal. Rage moves, acts.

And let's be clear: G@za is not an isolated wound. The same colonial machinery, the same extractive greed, the same dehumanising racist logic fuels the suffering in the C0ng0, in SUdan, and in so many other lands torn by war. These are not separate tragedies — they are branches of the same poisoned tree. The root is c0l0n!alism, and its fruits are exploitation, displacement, and blood.

Conscious anger is not blind hate — it is energy that rises when someone crosses a line and causes harm. It is prana — life force — rising to protect life and humanity. A spiritual practice does not ask us to be neutral in the face of injustice. It asks us to act.

This is not the time to close our eyes in the name of “inner peace", "good vibes". It is the time to carry our practice off the mat — to use our breath, our words, our bodies, our knowledge to stand for liberation.

Rage for the oppressed. Speak for those who have been silenced. No complicity with the 0ccup@tion.

Ciao beautiful people 🌞🌿

Overflowing with gratitude after the magic of Penchmi in Glastombury.
To Demba, Maite, the incredible artists, and every hand behind the scenes — thank you for offering us "not just entertainment", but soul nourishment, care, deep healing, rhythm, and connection.

To everyone who came with open hearts — your warmth, smiles, hugs, kisses, deep presence — and the forest and fields that held us like a great big embrace… and of course, to Mother Earth, our constant source of support, life and grounding 🌍💚

It was deeply emotional to reconnect with new and old friends from over 25 years ago, since arriving in London in ’99 through the West African music scene and to now share this time as family, as Penchmi — what a gift!

Demba, my friend — thank you for your inspiring wise choices & timing, the Divine African rhythm, and the flow in action — through your enchanted drumming, chanting, and dance, with masters who give their all, every single time.

Also special shoutout to our impromptu Yin & Yang morning yoga — a little laughter, a little sweat, and a beautiful touch of Double yoga love 🤸🏽‍♀️🌀🧘🏽‍♀️🧘🏾👭🏽

This gathering is something else.
It’s real. It’s alive. It’s Penchmi.
Unique, rooted, wild, beautiful.

Until next time 💫🔥❤️

Community vs. Business

A community is a living web of relationships based on mutual care, solidarity, and voluntary exchange. People show up for each other not because they're being paid, but because they feel responsible for one another’s wellbeing. In a true community:
Support is reciprocal but not transactional.
Help is given freely, not priced.
Trust grows through shared experience, not customer retention.
You bring soup when someone’s sick. You lend a hand when someone’s moving. You check in, unprompted. There may be skill swaps, childcare exchanges, shared meals, a listening hear, a shoulder to cry on — no receipts, no invoices, no marketing.

A business, on the other hand, is a structured system of exchange for goods or services in return for money. Even when wrapped in friendly language — “community hub,” “safe space,” “family vibe” — if you're paying for access, then you are a customer, not a community member. Businesses can be warm, ethical, and socially minded — but they are not the same as community:
The smile comes with a price.
Access is limited by
ability to pay.
Support is offered within working hours.

Honoring the Sacred Feminine
International Women’s Day 2025

Oh Shakti, Primordial sacred mother, You awaken in beauty and radiance, flowing through the cosmic dance of creation, rhe chaos.
Within me, You have blessed a womb—a luminous temple of sacred water, wisdom, strength, and destiny. A sacred space where love emerges, life is conceived, and offered back to the infinite rhythm of existence. I bow in deep respect for the gift of embodying this sacred force, for being a vessel of love, wisdom, intuition and transformation.
Today, I celebrate all expressions of the feminine—the nurturers, the warriors, the visionaries, the healers, the queens. May we rise as one, weaving a world of truth, harmony, justice, and love.
From my heart to yours, I honor the Divine Feminine within you.

Namaste,
Paola Parvati

🌿💚World Mental Health Day 2024💚 🌿

Today, on , let's take a moment to honor the importance of mental well-being. In a world that moves so fast, it's easy to forget that taking care of our minds is just as vital as taking care of our bodies.

Yoga as medicine movement reminds us to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves. It’s not just about flexibility or strength—it’s about creating space for peace, healing, and balance. Every deep breath, every mindful movement is a step toward mental clarity and emotional resilience.

Take time today to check in with yourself. Whether it's through a few minutes of a walk in nature, a gentle yoga flow, or simply sitting in silence, give your mind the care it deserves.

🌸 Your mental health matters. You are worthy of the time and energy it takes to nurture it.
