Recently, George Dashfield, Clinical Lead Audiologist, spoke at Ménière’s & Vestibular UK’s Vestibular Insights Day, delivering a talk on “General Hearing Health: How to Maintain and Improve Your Hearing.” The talk focused on the importance of proactive hearing care and supporting their long-term hearing health.

Alongside the presentation, we also hosted a stand throughout the event, speaking with attendees about hearing and balance-related concerns. The day provided a valuable opportunity to answer questions, offer advice, and help raise awareness around vestibular and balance disorders, while connecting with individuals affected by these conditions and the wider support community.

Recently, one of our Senior Clinical Audiologists, Lerissa Pillay, attended the British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG) 2026 “Sound Futures: Innovation, Access and Collaboration” event in Glasgow.

The event brought together clinicians, researchers, educators and hearing-health professionals from across the sector to explore current developments in cochlear implant care, including real-world clinical insights, ground-breaking research, advances in technology and rehabilitation, service delivery, and international perspectives.

Attending events like these allows our team to stay informed on the latest research, innovations and clinical discussions within cochlear implant care, helping ensure we continue delivering informed, up-to-date support and care to our patients.

This Deaf Awareness Week, we’re supporting the theme “Right to understand – Together, we break barriers.”

It highlights the importance of equal access to communication, creating a more inclusive society, and recognising the needs of deaf children and their families.

Hearing loss in childhood can impact communication, learning, and social development - but with early identification and the right support, every child can fully access education and opportunity.

Simple changes, greater awareness, and inclusive communication - including the use of British Sign Language (BSL) where appropriate - can make a meaningful difference.
