Madelaine’s Hatha flow classes creatively explore the classical principles of Raja yoga, through a progressively challenging and elegant sequencing of pranayama breathing, asana postures, relaxation, and meditation or Yoga Nidra, (a beautiful and profoundly deep, restorative practice which compliments the physical work). "Relaxation begins from the outer layer of the body and penetrates the deep layers of our existence" BKS Iyengar
Different themes are explored through flowing graceful movements, and quiet held postures, to develop strength and flexibility through the full range of muscle groups. Madelaine’s experience as a Structural Yoga and Ayurvedic Yoga Therapist ensures students work safely, understanding the benefits and contra-indications of the posture work, and applying suitable alternatives and modifications when appropriate.
