Our lounge was buzzing today as our lovely friends Sheila, Denise & Nicola from Christchurch Sutton led a beautiful Communion service for our residents. 🎶✨ The singing of All Things Bright and Beautiful filled the room with joy, and the happiness carried on over tea, cake & lovely chats afterwards. 🫖🍰💬

🦜 Ahoy, mateys! September 19th be “Speak Like a Pirate Day,” and our talented residents truly embraced the spirit of the day! ⚓️

With their best West Country accents, they brought laughter and joy to our gathering, showcasing their amazing talent and creativity. From hearty “Arrr!” to clever pirate banter, it was a day filled with fun and camaraderie! 🏴‍☠️✨

A massive shoutout to our residents for their enthusiasm and for making this day so memorable. You all are treasure beyond measure! 💖🏆

A big thank you to the wonderful team at Sutton Lodge for making it possible for us to enjoy another lovely outing! 🌸

This time we visited Morden Hall Garden Centre, where the café staff had kindly reserved a table just for us. Our residents enjoyed choosing their own treats — from cream scones and chocolate chip cookies to a Danish pastry — along with a nice cup of tea or coffee. ☕🍪

Although the weather was grey, spirits were high! Instead of exploring the park, our residents loved wandering through the beautiful garden centre displays and admiring the fish in the aquariums. 🐠🌿

Huge thanks to the caring staff at Morden Hall Garden Centre, to Sutton Lodge for organising the transport, and to Gary for driving and Jane for being such a great help to our residents. 💐

🚨 Fire Safety Practice at Grasmere 🚨

Today at Grasmere Rest Home we carried out our regular fire alarm test 🔔 and also practiced using the evacuation sledge. ✅

Keeping our residents safe is always our top priority, and these drills help make sure our team is confident and prepared should we ever need to respond in an emergency.

✨ At Grasmere Rest Home, we’re always looking for ways to support the well-being of our residents. As many of you know, we recently introduced Brain+ therapy for dementia training, and the results have been truly inspiring.

We’ve already seen a wonderful improvement in our residents’ engagement, memory, and overall happiness. Because of this success, we’re excited to continue rolling out Brain+ here at Grasmere.
