Vaginismus: Is it all in the mind?

The cause of vaginismus has yet to be identified, but to say that it is all in the mind is a reduction of this sometimes traumatic condition and the experiences of those who suffer with it.

Vaginismus is a very real condition with painful symptoms. 3 signs of vaginismus include:
• Negative reaction or anxiety towards s*x
• Contraction of vaginal muscles in anticipation of s*x
• Pain upon pe*******on

Luckily, however, there is a treatment for vaginismus. Find out what it is: https://www.gynae-centre.co.uk/blog/when-s*x-hurts-the-botox-cure-for-vaginismus/

Why do I feel a burning sensation after s*x?

There are a number of reasons for a burning feeling in the vaginal area after s*x, and not all of them are cause for concern.

For example, it could have just been that the act was a little more vigorous than usual, causing extra friction and therefore a burning sensation. This will likely resolve in a few days with a break from s*x.

There are also, however, more serious causes of a burning feeling post-s*x. You can find out more about them here: https://www.gynae-centre.co.uk/blog/why-your-vagina-burns-after-having-s*x/

A large cross-sectional analysis published in the American Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology has shed light on how menstrual product choices vary across age, race, socioeconomic status, and gynecological health conditions.

Findings show tampons and pads remain the most common products, while cups and period underwear are less widely used. Researchers note these variations reflect not only personal preference, but also cultural norms, accessibility, and health needs.

Read the full article to explore how menstrual health intersects with broader issues of equity and access:

A recent study found variations in menstrual product use by race, age, socioeconomic status, and menstrual factors.

• you have undergone a full consultation with a doctor
• the pills are obtained legally and through a certified medical professional
• you are up to 10 weeks pregnant
• you are aware of and prepared for any side effects or complications
• you have an aftercare plan in place

Pregnancy termination is a physically, emotionally and mentally difficult situation, which is not made easier by the potential anxiety of a visit to a clinic.

Fortunately, the law allows pregnancies up to 10 weeks to be terminated in the comfort of one's own home using a pills by post scheme.

These pills should only be obtained from a reputable source, such as The Gynae Centre, following a consultation with a medical profession.
