5 tips for self care during your period:

1. Don't try to push yourself too hard. Your body is going through a lot, so make sure to prioritise rest.
2. Forgive yourself for mood swings.
3. Let those closest to you know that you may be feeling or acting differently, so that they know to support you if you need it.
4. Avoid tight clothing and belts, as these can be uncomfortable and even worsen pain.
5. Prevent yourself from judging your own appearance. Bloating is normal during a period, as is extra sebum in your hair, and acne breakouts.

Pregnancy termination is a physically, emotionally and mentally difficult situation, which is not made easier by the potential anxiety of a visit to a clinic.

Fortunately, the law allows pregnancies up to 10 weeks to be terminated in the comfort of one's own home using a pills by post scheme.

These pills should only be obtained from a reputable source, such as The Gynae Centre, following a consultation with a medical profession.

"After being told by the NHS that I could be waiting up to 6 weeks for a procedure that I needed, I looked for a private centre/doctor that could help me sooner.

"I found the Gynae Centre online, filled in my details and had an appointment the very next day. I was sent some medication that day, and received it the following day. The whole process from start to finish was 2 days, not the expected 6 weeks wait with the NHS.

"I found the clinician very helpful, and understanding to my situation. I also received a check up email the following week, to make sure everything was okay and if I needed any more support."

Waiting for an appointment for a crucial diagnosis can make you feel as if you're not in control of your health. At The Gynae Centre, our wait times for appointments are typically low, and we strive to book appointments for our patients as soon as possible.
