By registering with CNHC you choose to be voluntarily regulated and will be able to display the CNHC Quality Mark. This demonstrates to your clients that you are professionally trained and qualified, fully insured and work to high standards of conduct, ethics and safety. You will also be listed on our searchable online Accredited Register.

We work with 40 professional associations who act as Verifying Organisations (VOs) for CNHC. They use their in-depth knowledge of the therapies they represent to verify that complementary therapists are eligible to apply for CNHC registration.

VOs work with us to communicate the professional advantages of CNHC registration to their members and in turn we strongly recommend that all CNHC registrants belong to a professional association in addition to CNHC registration. Your association plays an important role in providing a range of services to you as a professional practitioner.

Our Story

The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) is the UK independent regulator for complementary health practitioners across 16 different therapies. We were set up in 2008 with government funding and support and hold a register accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Our registrants ‘Stand up for Standards’ as they meet UK government training standards, hold professional indemnity insurance and agree to abide by our Code of Conduct, Ethics and Performance.
