New year, and we’re back and raring to go! ✨🎉

In early December, trainees from our Dare to Dream service visited Ealing Council’s Safer Communities Team CCTV hub and control room to learn how they help keep our communities safe. 🛡️📹 We asked questions about safety in our neighbourhoods and were amazed to hear there are 750 CCTV cameras across Ealing.

Huge thank you to Jason, Daniel and the team for being so welcoming (and for the tea and biscuits! ☕🍪)

Dare to Dream is all about getting people with learning disabilities into work, seeing behind the scenes of different industries is so valuable for our trainees! If you could offer experience or an insight to your work place get in touch!

Today is Disability Pay Gap Day 💶
This marks the day when a disabled person would stop being paid for the year compared to their non-disabled colleagues. On average, a person with a disability in work earns £4,000 less each year due to the disability pay gap 💰

The gap is even wider for people with learning disabilities: only 6% have paid work, even though 60% want to work.

Our team supports trainees with learning disabilities to get into work. We teach essential skills, prepare them for job hunting, and guide them through the process. People with learning disabilities deserve equal pay and recognition for the value they bring to every workplace.

We had so much fun with Ed Smith Creative this week! 🎬📸 He came to visit us at The Lodge and at Dare to Dream on Leeland Road. Ed captured some fabulous shots of our members, who showed off their amazing acting skills and posed brilliantly for the shoot. 🌟
