On , we champion the courage and determination of refugee youth. Through our continued partnership with UK for UNHCR and the scholarship programme, we support 80 students in their pursuit of tertiary education, supporting the foundations for empowered lives, resilient communities, and meaningful opportunities ahead.

Thanks to the DAFI scholarship programme, Qasim, a Syrian refugee living in Jordan, was able to complete his studies and become a paediatric physiotherapist.

Now, he’s helping children take their first steps, regain mobility and rebuild their futures.

💬 “I’m most proud of helping people to regain their normal life, especially the children who are not able to contribute or participate in the community like other children.”

Thanks to our partner Hikma Pharmaceuticals support for DAFI scholarships in Jordan, even more young refugees can pursue their education and give back to their communities.

Together, we’re opening up pathways to education, employment and hope.

This year we once again partnered with Pelotonia, a Columbus-based nonprofit dedicated to one goal – ending cancer. Our team of 13 Hikma riders cycled more than 1,000 miles and raised over $24,000 (and counting!) for life-saving cancer research.

It was the second consecutive year that Hikma employees participated in Pelotonia, and it pushed our total funds raised to more than $43,000.

One of our riders was Lauren Pavis, a scientist at our Columbus site, and her story reminds us why we ride. Lauren rode this year not for the miles or the medals, but for her dad. Lauren lost her dad to esophageal cancer. “I lost my dad, and in losing him, I gained a mission,” she said. “This year, I rode in Pelotonia to honor the ones we’ve lost, to support those still fighting, and to fund the research that will lead us to a cure.”
