We’re proud to share the publication of the first international expert consensus on shape-sensing robotic-assisted bronchoscopy (ssRAB), an advanced technique used to assess lung nodules.

Bringing together 18 specialists from 13 hospitals across 3 continents, the group developed 38 clear recommendations to help guide clinicians on how to use this technology safely and effectively.

We’re especially pleased that Dr Pallav Shah, consultant at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals, contributed to this global work and highlighting our continued commitment to leading research and innovation in respiratory care.

March marks Sleep Awareness Month, an important opportunity to highlight the critical role sleep plays in our overall health and wellbeing.

In our latest interview, Dr Shruthi Konda, sleep consultant, shares practical, evidence-based guidance on how small, consistent changes can lead to better quality sleep.

Some key recommendations include:
- avoiding caffeine and heavy meals later in the evening
- creating a sleep environment that is dark, quiet, and comfortable
- establishing a relaxing wind-down routine and reducing screen time before bed
- keeping a consistent sleep schedule, including weekends
- prioritising exposure to natural light during the day

Improving sleep is not just about rest, it is a fundamental component of long-term health.

We are proud to highlight the contribution of Royal Brompton & Harefield consultants Professor Philip L. Molyneaux, Dr Felix Chua, and Professor Gisli R. Jenkins to the PROFILE study, a landmark UK research project into idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

Following over 600 newly diagnosed patients, the study shows how IPF progresses in real life, with nearly half experiencing significant lung decline within a year. These insights are helping shape future care, research, and earlier intervention for this serious lung condition.
