Episode 2 is now out :) : https://lnkd.in/d-ptF6Wa

Focus this fortnight is considering what the empirical evidence is for the 2 point change post intervention being clinically significant. Even the authors of the COPM are weighing in on the debate so it's quite interesting!

Today’s EBPOT podcast topic is the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure and the significance of the 2 point change.

The first official episode of the podcast is out. Here's the notes page: https://ebpot.com/paeds-1-systematic-reviews/

This week I cover two systematic reviews, one which includes a meta-analysis. The first article explores the effect of motor interventions on cognition, communication, and social interactions of autistic children The second explores the use of Ayres Sensory Integration direct intervention, this study also has a strong focus on autism as majority of the studies located were studying autistic populations.

School-Based Paediatric OTs: Do you need help to stay up to date with current research? 📚
We all know evidence-based practice is crucial, but between meetings, assessments, and direct intervention, when do we actually have time to read AJOT, BJOT?

Online OT Resources for Educators and Parents

GriffinOT provides affordable online children’s occupational therapy resources for schools and families. Our training is designed to help teachers and parents understand and support children who may have sensory processing and/or motor skill challenges. We want to teach you how you can help your children reach their potential.

Our resources are helpful for educators and parents supporting children of all ages who may have sensory issues, motor skill or developmental delays, autism, or ADHD. There are tips for helping with pencil grasp and scissor skills. We have a free introductory course on sensory processing and a longer course for those who want to learn more.

Whilst we wholeheartedly believe that direct children’s OT intervention is best practice, we are aware that in many cases there is limited or no access to occupational therapists. GriffinOT online training and programmes can be used alongside direct OT provision or as a standalone training resource.
