As 2025 draws to a close, we usually get asked about our highlights of the year, so I’ve been taking time to reflect and honestly, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built together 🫶

This year saw the birth of Band of Brothers CIC! What started as a vision, quickly became a movement, welcoming an army of great men into our groups - men I now proudly call friends. Seeing the strength, honesty and brotherhood grow week by week has been nothing short of inspiring.

A huge 'thank you' must go to the incredible organisations who believed in us from the start. Sutton Soup - your support has helped turn ideas into impact, and we wouldn't be doing all of this without your financial and networking support.

I’m also deeply grateful for the partnerships we’ve formed along the way. Special note must go to Sutton Womens Centre - thank you for delivering the 'Ask Me Ambassador' Training and for standing alongside us in championing Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), as well as Sutton Mental Health Foundation - your collaborative support has been invaluable in helping BOB grow with purpose and integrity, by signposting us and the training opportunities ahead.

And on a personal note — thank you to Ben, Matt and John; not only for recognising the vision, but for backing it with your time, energy and commitment. Volunteering the way you have has played a massive role in BOB’s success! 💪🏻

Looking ahead to 2026...we're just getting started! 🚀

In the year ahead, we aim to continue our mission, by also:

• Open new 'chapters' in three neighbouring boroughs, reaching even more men with the support of some fantastic partnerships formed;

• Launch our podcast 'Banter of Brothers' - collaboratively working with Radio St Helier to reach men, who may not yet feel ready to step through the door and to put the spotlight onto Health matters;

• Introduce our 'Healthier Me' events, starting with the 'Men’s Health Huddle' and our 'BOB Socials' events, creating even more connection, unity and friendship;

Finally, I'd like to express thanks to every man who has shown up, spoken up and supported one another this year. We're also excited to welcome several new men to the group, who are looking at developing their own lives in 2026 and would welcome anyone else who wishes to be a part of it? Here’s to being even better in 2026! 💪🏻

Keep posted - there’s so much more to come! 👊

Christmas is often seen as a time of celebration - filled with loved ones, connection, warmth and family traditions.

But for many men, it can also magnify loneliness, grief, loss and the feeling of being unseen. Isolation can feel heavier at this time of year, than any other.

At Band of Brothers CIC, we hold space for men:

🎄 the ones sitting quietly with their thoughts;
🎄 the ones staying sober/clean through difficult days;
🎄 the ones spending Christmas without their children;
🎄 the ones choosing to keep going - even when it feels unbearably hard.

Globally, 840 suicides will occur every 24hrs - that's one person taking their life every 40 seconds. So, if today feels heavy, know this: you’re not weak, broken, or failing. You’re human — and you’re not alone.

Please make time for the men around you. Reach out. Check in. A message. A call. A knock at the door. Walk alongside one another. Small acts can make a big difference.

We are here, at any point of the day, for those who need to talk. Together, we leave no man behind.

Today, Band of Brothers CIC continued our pledge against ending Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), marking 'White Ribbon Day', by working collaboratively to ensure every woman feels safe, respected and supported in our community, by attending the Sutton Women’s Safety Charter event.

We stood alongside community partners to promote safety, accountability and positive action. It was encouraging to see some committed organisations and individuals advocating for positive change.
