Yusuf and I always bake each others birthday cakes
We always get to request what we want
This year I asked for a 'grasshopper slice' cake

Years ago before we went vegan we used to live near a Hummingbird Bakery and I absolutely LOVED their 'grasshopper slice'

So Yusuf delivered this amaze-balls vegan mint brownie cake on Friday
It is so friggin delicious 😋😋😋
of course it is almost all gone
I think I have one mouthful left 🤣🤣🤣

💜Why I do what I do💜

When I worked my 9-5 I felt like my work was pointless  

That I was working for the man,
helping the business make more money

For years I tried to find ways to stay motivated, engaged, contributing 

But I felt like I had to be someone I'm not...

There was nothing to really light me up...

I was just going through the motions of everyday...

Getting frustrated, snappy, exhausted...

More and more disillusioned by it all...

Twice I experienced burnout

In 2021, the migraines got so bad I couldn't even look at my laptop screen anymore 

My body ached i couldn't even sit at my desk anymore 

I cried uncontrollably when I opened my emails...

➡️Fast forward to when I started coaching 

I realised just what had been missing in my 9-5 life 

Genuine purpose and fulfilment from my work!

I absolutely love seeing the impact my coaching has on my clients' lives 

I wake up excited for the day, eager to see my clients and hear about their wins this week 

To see the breakthroughs they experience 

Observing the change in them as individuals over the course of our sessions together

👩‍💻I felt TRAPPED in my full time corporate job

Unable to leave because I needed the stability of a steady income as the sole earner in our family

😱So I stayed STUCK for years

📋I would search for new jobs all the time but never applied for any because I knew I actually wanted a complete career change

😬I took so many courses and tried so many businesses but could never stick at anything long enough to ever have the chance of making a side business my only business

I grew resentful about the situation

(Even though I had pretty much created it myself)

🤔I was plagued by indecision

So it took me over 7 years to finally leave the corporate world and that 'steady' job behind

Just before the final I picked up this book at the library. We're big fans of Alex Scott in our house, not so much from her footballing days but more so from watching her break through into football broadcasting.

I didn't expect to be so hooked in from the beginning of the book, it's honest, raw and relatable

What she has accomplished in her life and her career is nothing short of phenomenal all the while dealing with so much too.

It's a really inspirational read and I love the message that being strong means you sometimes have to open up, ask for help, be vulnerable.

I particularly love that a lot of her achievements have come from the mindset of 'what if it all works out' rather than a default for a lot of us of 'what if it doesn't'

Struggling to stay motivated?

If you're wanting to make a change to your life but find yourself staying busy doing other things (or netflixing on the sofa - guilty!), chances are you haven't connected enough with what you really want

You need to get really clear on your WHY

Because sometimes change will be uncomfortable:

💜You won't fancy waking up early

💜Changing up your routine

💜Or putting in extra hours after a full day of work

To get to where you want

When you have a clear WHY

💜You have a reason for doing these things that you feel emotionally connected to

💜It really means something to you

Then you will do what it takes to get there

5 Ways to Boost Your Confidence

1. Pick a confident person you admire - it could be someone you know, a movie/TV character or someone famous. When you need to be extra confident try 'channeling' that person. Think about how they dress, walk, move, talk and use that to inspire you when you need it. You could literally say I'm gonna channel my inner Mel Robbins (or whoever works for you) in this moment and adopt some of their qualities when you need it.

2. Identify a power outfit/accessory and wear it when you need a kickass confidence boost. It could be a pair of shoes, a jacket, or a piece of statement jewellery. But when you put it on it instantly makes you feel more confident.

3. Be intentional with the words you use and how you speak, even if only speaking to yourself. The words you use have meaning and will impact how you feel. The more positive and affirming words you use, the more confident you will feel.

4. Surround yourself with other confident people. The people you hang out with will impact your confidence. Confident people act and speak differently and it will rub off on you.

5. Become the person you're aiming for. When you have a clear idea of what you want in life and the goals you're working towards, you should also have an idea of who you need to become. You should become that person now, act as if you've already achieved that goal and you will approach everything with a more confident energy.
