In case you missed it, after ten wonderful years at our previous location in Angel Gate, we have officially moved into our new office in Holborn!

For six months staff had been working remotely while our Operations Team worked hard behind the scenes to prepare the new space. Their focus has been on creating an environment that better supports our continued growth, strengthens collaboration, and provides a welcoming base for our work.

Our new headquarters are now located on the ground floor of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH) building:
5–11 Theobalds Road
London
WC1X 8SH

In case you missed it we are delighted by the news that Professor Alan Boyd FFPM has been awarded an MBE in the 2026 New Year Honours, in recognition of his outstanding services to Gene Therapy and to Pharmaceutical Medicine Education.

Professor Boyd is an internationally recognised scientist, educator and entrepreneur whose career spans more than four decades. He has made a seminal contribution to the development of cell and gene therapies, including pioneering work that led to the world’s first approved gene therapy for an inherited retinal disease. His work has contributed directly to the licensing of more than 25 medicines, including multiple advanced therapies, transforming outcomes for patients with rare and serious conditions.

A founding member of FPM, Professor Boyd has played a pivotal role in shaping the specialty in the UK. He led the development of FPM’s postgraduate training and educational programmes, chaired the Higher Medical Training Subcommittee that established formal specialty training in 2002, and has supported generations of trainees through his service on national education and advisory committees. He served as Vice-President before being elected President of FPM in 2015.
