It's Lymphoedema Awareness week next week.

To help get the word out, Haddenham Healthcare's patient direct service Lymphshop has produced a guide to Lymphoedema for the recently diagnosed and their families. It's called "Lymphoedema - So What Happens Now?"

Lymphoedema is a chronic, progressive swelling that can occur in any part of the body but is most common in the limbs. It occurs because the lymphatic system is struggling with the normal drainage of fluid from the tissues back into the circulation.

It was so rewarding teaching this great group of Sharon Wheeler's ScarWork therapists the Specialist Course in Pelvic and Abdominal Scarring. To see them take their skills to the next level, caringly work with those whose scars turned out to hold a powerful emotional charge, and be so willing to be open and supportive of each other, brought happy tears to my eyes. What a two days!

My huge thanks go to Carole Caplin and Lyn Chamberlain-Webber for their support and help during the course. Couldn't have done it without you!
