Upcoming workshops in person in Bow (in Bow near Victoria Park). February 7 and 21 | 2:00-5:00PM.

Part I February 7: All things hypnobirthing

Part II February 21: All things birth

…that fit into three hours of course! Part I condenses session one and two of my full course and Part II condenses session three and four. These are a much more affordable alternative to a full course if you’re short on time or are adding them on to another antenatal course. I’d recommend both (as the slides point out…there is a lot of nuance!) but you can choose to book just one.

It wasn’t my first birth that inspired me to become a hypnobirthing teacher. That birth was beautiful and calm, despite shoulder dystocia, and I wouldn’t describe it as painful. It was my second birth, in a labour ward, where my husband and I worked much harder to have the birth I envisioned, where it was a constant challenge to get into my zone (for various reasons) and where I would describe it as painful. My first birth fascinated me and left me in awe of my body, my second birth empowered me and left me in awe of myself.

Remember that the biggest challenges are often the most transformative…the most empowering…the things that leave you in awe of yourself. ✨

Reframing the way you think about challenges, birth, medical support and even pain is an important aspect of hypnobirthing. If this sounds interesting to you, please join my February workshops where we’ll learn all about hypnobirthing and preparing for birth in a way that centres you and your experience. 🩷

I’ve had quite a lot of inquiries recently so I’ve created a workshop in two parts to try and accommodate those hoping for a workshop and those hoping for a full course. We’ll meet in the middle (and you can save £30 by booking both)! See my website for more details or to book…or read on.

The first workshop is a clearer guide to hypnobirthing. If you want a detailed practice you can do to feel more confident and relaxed in the lead up to birth, to know how hypnobirthing works or to know how to use it if plans change, this is for you. If your birth partner wants to know how to support you through pregnancy and birth, this is for them too. You’ll receive a couple small but mighty tools and several MP3s and scripts to help support your pregnancy and birth.

The second workshop is a deeper dive into preparing for a positive birth. You (and your birth partner) will learn about your incredible body in labour (very cool and should be standard learning), think about when you might call your midwife or go in, birth positions, pushing techniques, what happens when you’re baby is born, etc. You’ll receive several handouts and resources to support your birth and beyond.

Spaces are limited. If you have any questions feel free to reach out and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

Yoga is such a great postnatal practice because it isn’t just about the physical (though yes, strength and mobility are so important). What’s needed even more in these days with your baby in tow is nervous system regulation for you. Your baby’s nervous system co-regulates with yours, so it’s so important you make sure to take care of yourself as well. Finding quiet moments to be led in movement, breathing and drawing your attention inward has a buildable impact and you can take these practices from class off the mat to support you in your day to day. It’s also a wonderful thing to be in community, even on the days you don’t feel like talking to others. Drop in anytime. Postnatal yoga is every Thursday 11:00-12:00. 🤍

I love the first session of my hypnobirthing course. Everyone is in the same phase of life - getting to know each other and realising they feel similar about a lot of things. Having a group to chat with that’s happy to discuss all things birth and babies, and having my support as well, gives you a resource of information and recommendations throughout your pregnancy and once your baby is here. This support is valuable as you always have the means to gather more information, but sometimes what you really need is a listening ear and compassionate space to hold whatever it is you’re feeling and going through. Much of the work I do for pregnancy, birth and parenthood is sharing information and holding space for all the changes. ✨ You already have the wisdom to navigate it. 💛

I’m currently taking a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist course with . I’m loving the bite sized videos. I previously did two perinatal trainings with (with and ) which I loved and would describe as holistic, inclusive and functional. Both gave me so much more awareness of my own body and changed my practice all around, and I know this course will do the same. I’m looking forward to learning more about helping people feel good in their bodies and refining my own practice and classes even more.

I was prompted to create this post after I heard has had a 0% caesarean rate for the last two years for births that started at home. Amazing!

I include statistics on the current caesarean rates and helpful questions to ask to help you make informed choices. Some people choose caesarean births for very good reasons. I support informed decision making and autonomy. We are also seeing a large increase in caesareans without positive change in the outcomes for babies. It’s so important for us to ask questions and keep improving, especially when we see imbalanced outcomes for those in deprived areas and for black and brown women and babies (see ).
