Let’s cut through the noise. Ageing well doesn’t need to mean 12-step routines or miracle fixes, but it does take a few smart, consistent habits.
Here are my top 3 evidence-based hacks I recommend to every patient:
1. Prioritise sleep like it’s medicine.
It’s not just about feeling rested. During deep sleep, your body repairs tissue, balances hormones, and regulates inflammation - all crucial for skin, mood, and long-term health. If you’re skipping sleep, no serum is going to save you.
2. Support your system from the inside.
Life’s busy. We don’t all have time to eat the perfect diet every day, so thoughtful supplementation can help. I never skip my collagen and vitamin C because they work together to support skin elasticity and regeneration. You can’t out-supplement a poor diet, but you can enhance a good one.
3. If you do nothing else: retinoid + SPF.
This is the foundation of any skin-ageing strategy. A retinoid at night to encourage cell turnover and collagen production. SPF in the morning to protect that new skin from damage. It’s simple, affordable, and non-negotiable.
There’s no such thing as a shortcut to ageing well, but there is a smarter, more intentional way to do it. These three things? A solid place to start.
