What is Sinus Pain?

Sinus discomfort may make you feel very uncomfortable because of nasal congestion and discharge, face pain, fullness, pressure, and headaches. Seasonal allergies or the common cold are the typical causes of sinus discomfort and congestion. However, some patients endure recurrent episodes.
Massage can facilitate nasal drainage and relieves tightness. The following massage techniques can be done as a home treatment.

1. Frontal Sinus Massage
- warm up your hands first by massaging them together;
- just above the eyebrows, place your middle and index fingers on either side of your forehead;
- working your way outwards, softly massage in a circular manner toward the temples;

2. Maxillary Sinus Massage
- on either side of the nose, place your index and middle fingers on the space between the cheekbones and the top jaw;
- for around 30 seconds, stroke this region in a circular manner;
- use your thumbs instead of your index fingers to provide more pressure;

3. Sphenoid/ethmoid sinus massage
- put your index fingers on your nose's bridge;
- look for the space between your nose and the corners of your eyes;
- for around 15 seconds, apply strong pressure there along with your fingertips;
- next, run your index fingers over the side of your nasal bridge in a downward motion;
- for around 30 seconds, keep making gentle downward strokes;
