This week we're focusing on opening our chests & when our chests are open, our hearts are spacious. What would you like to welcome into this space?

๐Ÿชด You could frame an intention with โ€˜I welcome/embrace .... โ€™ e.g. maybe a personal or professional goal or quality (perhaps ease, presence, confidence, gratitude etc) or whatever comes up for you. Explore, have fun and go with it.

Maybe you're short on time? Or/& have been overwhelmed by previous get fit & healthy to-do lists?

๐Ÿ™Œ Doing one small action might be just the thing to fit into your day & achieve your intentions. Small actions lead to big differences & can be easier to sustain.

Take one step, one yoga pose (& piece of fruit) a day to take care of yourself โค๏ธ

1. Chair Pose - Boost Immunity

๐Ÿฅญ Pose compresses your abdomen, engages your core & opens your chest, helping to stimulate the lymphatic system & thymus gland, giving your immune system a boost.

๐Ÿฅญ It's mango time! Mangoes contain vitamins A, C & E which boost immunity.

2. Chair Twist - Improve Digestion

๐Ÿ Twists in general are effective for digestion as they compress & massage your internal organs.

๐Ÿ Apples, rich in dietary fibre, improve digestion & can prevent constipation.

3. Crescent Lunge - Improve Mobility

๐ŸŠ Pose strengthens & stretches your hips (often tight from sitting for long periods), legs & glutes, increasing flexibility, range of motion & joint mobility which can reduce risk of injury.

๐ŸŠ Citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C which is essential for collagen production & collagen is a key part of connective tissues that support joints & mobility.

4. Cobra Pose - Boost Circulation

๐Ÿซ Pose opens your chest, stretches your front body & stimulates your abdominal organs, boosting circulation.

๐Ÿซ Berries are packed with antioxidants which can help relax blood vessels & boost circulation & reduce risk of heart disease.

5. Triangle Pose - Improve Respiration

๐ŸPose opens your chest & expands your ribcage which can help to increase lung capacity & improve respiration.

Come along to open your chest and hips and unwind with a relaxing cool down, perfect for the end of the week.

Finish with 10 minutes of guided meditation to release tension and stress.

๐Ÿฎ One of our poses this week is Cow Face Pose/Gomukhasana (in photo), which improves posture, releases tension and encourages us to connect to our breath ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐Ÿฎ So why is it called Cow Face? The crossed legs represent the lips and the bent arms represent the ears ๐Ÿ˜€
