The first-ever comprehensive review of Personal Independence Payment (PIP), the Timms Review, is now inviting people to share their experiences.

The review is looking at:

▪️Whether assessments are fair
▪️How experiences vary for different groups
▪️How changes since 2013 have impacted PIP

If you currently receive PIP, or have been denied it, you are encouraged to share your views.

Have your say here:

Responses should be received by 28th May.

This Call for Evidence is being administered by DWP on behalf of the Timms Review steering group and seeks to gather feedback and insight relating to the areas outlined in the Terms of Reference of the Review.

🌻 Today is

Autism is not always immediately apparent to others, which is why we’re proud to be members of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower.

You may have seen the Sunflower symbol on lanyards, badges or cards.

It’s a globally recognised way for people to discreetly signal they may need a little extra patience, understanding or support.

By being part of the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower, we recognise the importance of making non-visible disabilities (including autism and conditions like arthritis) better understood in everyday life.

We’re proud to stand alongside others working towards a more understanding and inclusive society.

In the latest episode of the Arthritis Action Podcast, Marc Williams is joined by Mr Peter James, Chief Medical Officer at Circle Health Group and Orthopaedic Surgeon, to discuss the different approaches to treating osteoarthritis.

They explore how treatment can vary depending on the stage of the condition, when it may be appropriate to escalate care, and when surgery might become an option.

Self-management of arthritis means finding ways to manage your symptoms that work for you.

It involves using a range of strategies to support both the physical and mental effects of arthritis.

As arthritis affects everyone differently, you can choose the approaches that best suit your needs.

This can include:

▪️ Managing weight
▪️ Sensible use of pain-relieving medication
▪️ Gentle exercise
▪️ Support for sleep, mental wellbeing, and pain-related worries

There are many ways to support your symptoms and small changes can help you manage your symptoms and feel more in control over time.
