Meditation and Nutrition

Meditation and Nutrition Many believe that meditation is hard work or that they can’t do it – this is the technique that defies that thinking. See website for details.

Stress and fatigue are the two of the most destructive natural forces on the quality our lives and the wellbeing of our minds and bodies. And unfortunately, in our current society, almost impossible to avoid. Vedic Meditation is a simple, daily technique that supports the body in removing old stresses stored in the nervous system and prevents new stress from being stored. This allows the mind and

body to return to their natural cycle and the symptoms listed above quickly begin to reduce, leaving you with a clearer, calmer, more focused mind, enabling you to be more effective, in all areas of your life. And this process starts from the very first day you learn. To find out more about how this meditation technique can revolutionise your life, attend a FREE intro talk.

Self care isn’t just about getting your hair done or your nails painted. It’s about making sure you take care of your body AND your mind. Taking time to rest allows your mind and body to clear out the stress and toxins accumulated during the working week, to stay on top of maintenance tasks and to give you the best start to the week ahead.

Yet how many of us will rush around like loons all weekend with an endless list of tasks and social activities that we need to cram into the approx 63 hours between finishing work Friday and starting again Monday morning or else it feels like we’ve ‘wasted’ the weekend?

If you don’t have hours to sit around relaxing on your weekend, a way to get deep rest and rejuvenation fast is through Vedic Meditation - just 20 mins morning and evening and you’re done and on with your plans. DM me to find out more. Happy weekend! 🤩

Ok, let’s get something straight...

You don’t need complete silence to meditate 😑

And frankly, there’s No. Such. Thing.

Think about it...

Even in a soundproof room in the middle of nowhere, you’ll hear noise. Noise coming from your own body. Your nose whistling, joints cracking, your clothes rustling.

No soundproof booth? Then there’s external noises to contend with. The scream of a siren passing by, a baby crying, a ringing phone, the hum from your fridge. It’s impossible to achieve complete silence.

These things are totally unavoidable, and noticing them is also completely normal.

With the Vedic Meditation technique, we treat these thoughts just as we do thoughts about emails, dinner and ex-lovers - we accept them as part of the process. And when we notice our focus drifting away from the mantra, we gently pull ourselves back to it.

No unrealistic expectations.
No guilt or frustration.

Just meditation as it should be 🙌🏼

Mindfulness is a great tool. But it’s very hard to master if you have a ‘monkey mind’ like so many of us, or are in a stressed or anxious state when you try it.

Mindfulness is what our monastic friends do. But our lives are a little more challenging than theirs, so we need something a bit more heavy duty - like Vedic meditation.

For students of Vedic Meditation, mindfulness is an *outcome* of practising meditation. It’s the state you’re left in once you come out of your daily meditation. You naturally become more present, less focused on the past or worried about the future.

And this is because the Vedic Meditation technique works with the minds nature, not against it.

Just like you can’t stop your heart from beating by simply thinking about it, nor can you stop your mind from thinking.

So, with Vedic Meditation, we don’t try to control the mind monkey. Instead, we use a simple mantra, allowing the mind to slip into a state of deep relaxation 5 x deeper than sleep. And WHEN you have a thought, you know it’s just part of the process and you think your mantra again. Simple, easy, natural.

If only more people could genuinely say ‘kindness is kinda my thing! The Veda (body of knowledge where Vedic Meditation and Ayurvedic medicine comes from) teaches us to ‘give, and then you shall receive’. So if you want kindness, you need to give it out first. Have a kind day all. xx

If you need to sit like this, in this type of location to meditate - YOU WILL NEVER DO IT!!!!

Most Westerners can’t sit cross legged with a straight back for more than a few minutes - our bodies are just too used to chairs. So being told you have to sit like this for even 5 minutes can be torture on stiff hips and knees, not to mention how are you going to get back up on your feet again? :) :)

With Vedic Meditation, we sit comfortably in a chair, sofa, bed, train seat, park bench, anywhere that’s comfortable, and if something aches, move. If something itches, scratch it. Then go back to meditating.

Sound refreshingly easy? It is. DM me to find out more.
