🌸 How to Know Your EDD (Estimated Due Date)

🍼 What Is EDD?

Your Estimated Due Date (EDD) is the approximate date when your baby is expected to be born — usually 40 weeks from the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP).

💡 Keep in mind: only about 5% of babies are actually born on their exact due date — but it’s a helpful guide for monitoring your pregnancy milestones.

📅 3 Common Ways to Calculate Your Due Date

1️⃣ Using Your Last Menstrual Period (LMP)

If you know the first day of your last menstrual period, you can use Naegele’s Rule:

🧮 LMP + 1 year – 3 months + 7 days = EDD

Example:
• First day of last period: August 1, 2024
• Add 1 year → August 1, 2025
• Subtract 3 months → May 1, 2025
• Add 7 days → 👉 May 8, 2025 (EDD)

This method assumes you have a regular 28-day cycle.

2️⃣ With an Ultrasound

If you’re not sure of your LMP or have irregular cycles, a first-trimester ultrasound is the most accurate way to date the pregnancy.
• Measurements like crown-rump length (CRL) help estimate gestational age
• Most accurate between 7 and 13 weeks

3️⃣ Pregnancy Wheel or EDD Calculator
• Many clinics use a pregnancy wheel (a circular tool) to quickly calculate EDD
• You can also use free EDD calculators online or mobile apps — just plug in your LMP!

📌 Important Notes
• EDD is just an estimate — full-term pregnancy ranges from 37 to 42 weeks
• Your provider may adjust your EDD based on early ultrasound results
• Most women don’t deliver exactly on their due date, but it’s used to plan prenatal care, testing, and delivery prep

📅 What Happens If You Go Past Your Due Date?
• Your provider may offer monitoring (NST, BPP) or discuss induction options after 41 weeks
• It’s important to keep up with all prenatal appointments during this time

🤰 Summary

Knowing your EDD:
• Helps track pregnancy progress
• Ensures timely tests and screenings
• Prepares you for delivery planning

If you’re not sure of your EDD or feel it may be off, always talk to your provider — they can confirm or update it based on ultrasound findings and other assessments.

BEETROOT AND BANANAS FOR SP*RM MOBILITY

Your chances of getting pregnant increase when both partners are in good health. I’ve said this many times, nutrition plays a big role when trying to conceive. While you're taking care of yourself, please don’t forget your partner. Encourage him to do the same. If possible, prepare it for him. Let’s be real,we women often carry more of the burden emotionally, so staying proactive is key.

1. BEETROOT
Beetroot is rich in folate (vitamin B9) and known to support male fertility. It helps reduce fatigue and has been linked to improving s***m count. Some studies also show that the antioxidants in beetroot can enhance s***m quality and mobility.

2. BANANAS
Bananas are a powerful fruit for increasing s***m production. They contain vitamin B1, vitamin C, magnesium, and an enzyme called bromelain, which is known to boost s***m count and improve movement.

Helpful Tip:
If your partner already has low sp*rm count or poor motility, avoid s*x about five days before ovulation. Use that time to nourish him.

How to make a fertility smoothie:

1 ripe banana

A few slices of beetroot

A handful of leafy greens (like spinach)

Blend with orange juice or cranberry juice

If he’s not a fan of smoothies, the juice will help mask the taste and make it more enjoyable. Can’t afford juice? Blend fresh orange instead. Still can’t? Just use half a glass of water—it will still work.

If you can calculate your ovulation as a woman, you have solved half of your health problems. Why? Because knowing your ovulation gives you power over your body. Ovulation is the time in your monthly cycle when your body releases an egg this is your most fertile period, the time when you can easily get pregnant. But it’s not just about pregnancy it also helps you know if your body is working well.

When you understand your ovulation, you can:

Avoid unwanted pregnancy naturally, without drugs

Plan for pregnancy if you’re trying to conceive

Know if your cycle is normal if ovulation stops, something is wrong

Spot early signs of hormonal imbalance or stress

Track your health better than some tests

You don’t need big grammar to do this. All you need is to know when your last period started and count your cycle days. For women with regular periods, ovulation usually happens about 14 days before the next period comes. If your period comes every 28 days, your ovulation is likely around day 14.

So, knowing your ovulation is knowing your body. And when you know your body, you can protect your womb, avoid panic, and make better health decisions.
