When a headache became something more… Susie King’s Story.

In 2023, Susie thought it was stress.
Busy life. Shimmering headaches.

A brain tumour.
Hidden for over 10 years.
Life-changing.

After months of uncertainty and a high-risk biopsy, Susie was diagnosed with a grade 3 astrocytoma.

Now, after radiotherapy and facing a year of chemotherapy, she’s choosing to fight back - not just for herself, but for others.

We’re so proud to introduce The George Pickard Programme for Precision Brain Surgery, launched in partnership with Brain Tumour Research Campaign (BTRC).

George Pickard was a much-loved dad, brother, and friend whose life was tragically cut short by a brain tumour. 15 years on, his family have chosen to turn heartbreak into hope, creating a programme dedicated to funding vital brain tumour research and improving patient treatment.

This programme is about life-saving progress in precision brain surgery.

“In the UK, almost 13,000 people are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year (that’s 35 people each day) and this figure increases each year. Research like this truly matters.”
