Royal College of Nursing Students

Royal College of Nursing Students RCN Students is the student arm of the Royal College of Nursing and proudly represents nursing students across the UK

The RCN Student Committee is an elected body of students from across the United Kingdom, all of whom work alongside the wider Royal College of Nursing to ensure that the views of students are heard. The RCN is a member-led organisation and as representatives we work with students in our areas, seeking to address any concerns or issues they might have. We're proud to be student nurses, and proud to represent our peers in our role as committee representatives. We fight alongside you, and on your behalf to ensure that your experience as a student nurse is the best it can be.

Every student nurse deserves a solid start in the profession, but now, too many students struggle financially and this has to change.

We’re calling for:

✅ A full review of student financial support across all four UK countries

In England we’re calling for:

✅ A commitment to writing off student loans in return for working for the NHS/other public services
✅ improved financial support by increasing the Learning Support Fund to reflect cost of living and inflation
✅ for student placement expenses to be paid on time.
