Are you ready??? What are the things you are implementing this New Year?

🐎🔥 Chinese New Year of the Fire Horse – 2026 🔥🐎

The Horse, one of the 12 zodiac animals, symbolising vitality, movement, motivation, strength, diligence, and efficient action. It carries the spirit of forward motion—progress through courage and momentum.

In the ‘Yi Jing’, the Horse is energetically aligned with the Dragon, making it a powerful symbol of transformation and life force. In Chinese mythology, even the God of the Sun travels across the sky in a chariot drawn by dragons—often depicted as horses.

This essence is captured in the phrase 「龍馬精神」Long Ma Jing Shen — Dragon-Horse Spirit — encouraging an invigorated body, a resilient mind, and a spirited approach to life.

✨ What the Horse Year Supports
• Health and vitality practices (Qigong, Tai Chi, movement, breathwork)
• New directions, fresh starts, and bold decisions
• Travel, exploration, and expansion
• Creativity, independence, and self-expression

🔥 Why 2026 Is Special
2026 is a Fire Horse year, doubling the Fire element. Expect amplified motivation, passion, confidence, and strong inner drive — real horsepower to get things moving and completed.

⚠️ A Gentle Reminder
With strong Fire comes the risk of overdoing it.
Move forward — but pace yourself.
Act boldly — but stay grounded.

🌿 Tips for Balance
• Move your body regularly to circulate fire energy
• Pause before major decisions
• Support the heart & nervous system with rest and breath
• Channel passion into creative or purposeful projects

When guided with awareness, the Fire Horse carries us forward with clarity, vitality, and inspired momentum — without burning out.

✨ Ride the fire. Stay centered. Keep moving. 🐎🔥

Why Warm Drinks Matter in Traditional Chinese Medicine 🌿

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), digestion is at the center of good health. The Stomach and Spleen are considered the “root of post-natal Qi” — meaning they are responsible for transforming the food we eat into usable energy, blood, and vital nutrients.

✨ Start your morning with warm water.

After a night of rest, your digestive system is just waking up. Drinking warm water first thing in the morning gently activates digestion, supports circulation, and helps your body transition into the day with ease.

In TCM, digestion requires warmth. Think of your Stomach as a cooking pot — it needs heat to properly “cook” and transform food into nourishment. When we consume cold drinks or iced foods, especially first thing in the morning, we dampen that digestive fire.
Leaving us unable to fully absorb nutrients.

❄️ Cold intake forces the body to use extra energy to warm what we’ve consumed before it can begin proper digestion.
This means valuable energy is diverted away from other important functions like immune support, hormone balance, tissue repair, and mental clarity.

Over time, excessive cold intake may contribute to:
• Sluggish digestion
• Bloating
• Fatigue
• Dampness accumulation
• Weakened digestive fire

🌞 The beautiful part? We do have control over this!

Simply choosing warm or room-temperature drinks instead of iced ones is a small daily habit that makes a big difference.

Your body thrives on warmth.
Support your digestion.
Protect your energy.
Start your day warm.

With heavy hearts, we share the sad news that our deeply loved senior practitioner, Peter, passed away on Saturday evening. Peter was many things to many people — a devoted father, a loving brother, a lifelong student, a generous mentor, a gifted healing practitioner, and very often, the joker who could bring lightness and laughter into any room. He cared deeply about his work and the people he supported, forming meaningful therapeutic relationships and walking alongside so many on their healing journeys.
Rest in peace my friend 🕊️
His compassion, professionalism, humour, and integrity left a lasting imprint on his patients, colleagues, and our clinic as a whole. We will honour Peter by continuing the care, kindness, and standards he held so dearly.

Did you know that In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), cun (寸) is a proportional body measurement system used mainly for point location, considered as the Chinese inch. It ensures point locations are relative to each individual’s body size rather than fixed measurements.

1 cun = the width of the patient’s thumb at the knuckle.
The body is divided into standard proportional distances (e.g., between joints or landmarks).
Larger measurements (e.g., 3 cun, 5 cun) use finger-width or boney landmarks for reference.
Used for:
Locating acupuncture points
Describing meridian pathways.
Occasionally in pulse diagnosis and herbal cut sizes.
