💛Mental Health Awareness week! 💜
Mental health is no joke, it’s a life priority that too many of us neglect, or even if we don’t we’ve all had a low period on the mental health spectrum…
• Insomnia
• Anxiety
• STESS
• Burnout
• Obsessing, over thinking
• Lack of confidence, low self-esteem
• Imposter syndrome
• Social anxiety
• Panic attacks
• Depression
… the list goes on
I’ve definitely had a bunch of these, in fact my Insomnia and stress levels are really at an all time low at the moment due to just life, things you can’t control. All we can do is keep going, keep rolling through life. Not getting too attached or hold on to our highs and not letting our lows stick in our memory cycle. We need to move through it.

Blue Monday 🩵
The 3rd Monday in January is sometimes referred to as the most difficult day of the year - Festivity blues, those that do dry Jan 🫨 start to really feeling the heat, it’s -2degrees 🥶, summer is far🫠, who am I, what am I doing with my life 😰 etc etc..
We all have good days and bad days and so let’s not let the calendar decide today is a bad day!
Choose one thing from the list below that you just absolutely, no doubt about it, will do TODAY!:

The Travel Battle, friends and awkward faces!
Milos, Greece 💙🤍
Feeling very grateful to be able to travel and experience the beauty around the world. Time away with friends and visiting new places helps shift your perspective, reminds you to have fun and enjoy the moments. Shout out to for bringing the lolz, love, advice and being my sweat buddy! Plus, on this tiny island I bumped into two awesome humans. One I haven’t seen in 6 years and one of my regular London legends .woooolf 🩵
Yet, despite this beautiful being a reminder of what travel can bring you, it is also a reminder that the choices we make and the way we live on the planet has a huge impact to its future beauty and survival. There have been wildfires all over Greece causing mass destruction to the land and peoples lives. It’s not global warming, it’s the era of global boiling!. Climate action is needed!
I’m fortunate to be able to travel, but I’m not oblivious to the impact this has on the environment and need to make more direct and conscious choices to make a difference.

Not a yoga picture!

Yea, there is also the classic trying to do a headstand on a paddle board shot, but I also have many other things in my life that aren’t all yoga poses! I’m sure many yoga teachers feel the same!

I LOVE my yoga practice and the yoga community. It’s been my lifeline, my energiser, my stabiliser and my daily reminder to get my s**t together and get on with it!

But it’s not all yoga and happy, hippy chill days! I have 2 other jobs (one in HR and one in Coaching/Therapy), I get dressed up, I hang out and get drunk with friends, I cry, laugh and get angry and forget all the things yoga teaches me. But then we loop back around and feel centred again!

Not sure on my point here, perhaps just a reminder to 1. Be yourself and accept who you are, and 2 find your thing that brings you home to your body and mind, that makes you feel that everything is actually ok.

🎗Mental Health awareness week 🧠
DNA is the unique genetic code that forms the instruction manual for our bodies. The expression of our DNA in our physical make up is visible to the eye. We can use our sight and knowledge to determine if someone is young or old, tall or short, abled or disabled…

What we can’t see directly by the eye and what definitely feels is lacking an instruction manual, is the mind. The mind is complex and constantly evolving. The thoughts, feelings, episodes, stories, memories and experiences that swim around in our brains requires a great level of curiosity to build understanding and awareness. These thoughts and feelings build up over time and our experiences merge with our inherited disposition that eventually creates our map of the world. Naturally this network of thoughts and experiences can become tangled.
There are dead ends, U-turns, crashes and even disasters. But there are also highlights, clear roads, a day of green lights and road trips of happy memories.

It’s mental health awareness week. So let’s raise our awareness. Learn about yourself, learn about others and learn from the research out there on mental health.

Some brains are predisposed to experience a greater level of negative mental pathways and intense receptor reactions than others. Some people experience unfortunate and extremely harmful events in their life. And some people don’t experience either but everyone has mental health. The ride is just different depending on multiple variables.

My journey with mental health has been intense but also powerful.
There have been ups and downs. Good days and bad days. Good years and bad years.
There is so much i could share but i don’t feel I need to. Awareness comes in many forms, and it doesn’t have to be lots of words.
Here are 3 things I’ve learnt that I try to live by:

Move to Motionless

Yoga teacher and Yoga Therapy teacher based in London.

Yoga is a channel to inner healing, self-love and acceptance. My classes are centred around the healing and therapeutic elements of yoga, creating a spiritual and creative practice. Please contact me for corporate, group, private or public studio classes. I can teach anything from an energetic dynamic vinyasa flow to a calming and slow Yin yoga.

I also work with heart patients, children, elderly and disabled centres to offer meditation or yoga to aid recovery. I personally suffer from two heart conditions and use yoga and pranayama as treatment.

I have just returned from an eight month trip around South America teaching yoga and meditation. It was an amazing and enlightening experience. I learned different styles of yoga and meditation, sound healing, how to instruct and provide clear cues to people who only understand little english. I spent a long time reading and researching to enhance my studies of the sacred yoga texts, chakras and therapeutic elements of yoga.
