A year ago we ran off to Skye for a secret elopement, only telling our friends and family via postcard after the deed was done. ❤️❤️❤️ Thankfully they all understood and were so happy for us!

We owe some amazing people who helped make this happen a huge (and very late!) THANK YOU!

🫧 Firstly, the one and only . We knew Jo was going to be our celebrant as soon as we were told she has a tendency to marry people barefoot!! And we couldn’t have asked for someone more perfect for us.

She created the most beautiful and meaningful ceremony with us, and the process we went through with her bought another level to our relationship. She created such magic, and made it truly an unforgettable day.

We couldn’t thank you enough!

🪢 Skye silks kindly helped us out with some beautiful fabric to make our hand-fasting cord.

🏰 Kinloch Lodge for an amazing stay. You made us feel so special every day, and the food. THE FOOD!! Indescribably good

🎂 Danny and his wife who befriended us, gifted us our quaich which we’ll use again this evening, and shared his birthday bagpipes with us.

🍾 Louise, Cat, Ed, James for a virtual cheers. Still not sure Cat believes us.

💍 And last but not least. .s.g.oliver what a great idea to get hitched this way. I can’t believe I married such a hottie. I love you.

A couple of trips to the lovely team at The Ralph this week - a check up and catheter out.

We now have to figure out how to manage a very incontinent collie.

ANY tips highly welcomed right now!

So far it’s been quite messy and emotional - and there’s many candles been lit - both for calm and odour relief!

She is knackered at the moment. She’s still healing and having to go through lots of physio and new things like bladder emptying - which she hates.

Pootling slowly on this journey now.

Meds are reducing.

Final photos are me and her sharing a meatball marinara in the car on the way home. I think this might become a new post-vet tradition.

More updates soon but we all need a few early nights!

We are having a really tough week.

On Sunday our lovely Lily looked like she had twinged her back or leg. Not too bad, so we thought we’d keep an eye and book in for the vet on Monday morning for a check up if she wasn’t better.

By Monday she was not moving her back leg at all, and had lost control of her bowel.

I was away, so with the help of some wonderful friends and neighbours .s.g.oliver somehow got her across the river and to the vets where she was referred to a specialist neuro team at the Ralph vet practice.

She had had a massive disc injury which had left her paralysed. Completely out of the blue.

One huge surgery later and a whole lot of worry, I’ve been able to visit her twice and even taken her out for a roll.

She’s exhausted, a bit confused, fussy with her food (as always) and fighting sleep like a champ.

I suspect we’ve got a long road ahead, and some hurdles to jump (not least how to get her 30kgs down a 90cm step into the boat!)

But shes fu***ng tough and so are we.

This girl is very loved by us, and so many other people, and we cannot wait to get her home.
