We know it’s very British to mention the weather, but after all the rain it was lovely to see the sunshine return and residents making the most of our beautiful garden.

The pictures show Brian enjoying some time outdoors with Donna, one of our lovely carers, and Diane making the most of the fresh air and sunshine with her daughter Louise. With a bit of warmth on their faces and the chance to top up their vitamin D, what’s not to like?

Every dog has its day… and Flo picked a lovely one at Nettlestead Care Home

Flo, our Pets As Therapy visitor, chose a perfect day to join us, as it was the day the very talented Caroline came in to sing for everyone.

Caroline’s wonderful singing filled the room with warmth, smiles and enjoyment, and Flo seemed every bit as delighted as the rest of us.

A big thank you to Caroline for bringing such a lovely time of music, companionship and joy.

Music in the Key of Friendship

Huge thanks to Steve Davies on keyboards and Tim Sanders on saxophone for a fabulous Nettlestead afternoon of jazz classics. It was particularly special for their old friend Brian, our much-loved resident, and his wife Sonia, who made it all happen.

January at Nettlestead. There’s baking and by the afternoon the cake has already vanished, thanks to Anne whipping up the eggs. Another day it’s singing old favourites, Brian, Terrance and Pat sing alongside Caroline Maresca, filling the room with familiar tunes and smiles. Then there are photographs on the table, with Shirley and Dianne sharing good times as they leaf through Nettlestead’s photo album.

🎄✨ We’ve just wrapped up our 12 Days of Christmas at Nettlestead and honestly… we’re still finding glitter in places glitter should never be. 😄

A huge thank you to Pink Theatre Company for bringing the festive magic (and the laughs) our residents, families and staff absolutely loved you. ❤️

Special mention to our team member Penda for fully committing to the season with those iconic festive spectacles 🤓🎅 and to everyone who raised a glass with us to welcome the New Year. 🥂 Here’s to more shared moments, more smiles, and maybe just slightly less tinsel next time…

👻 Anne of the Boo Crew at Nettlestead Care Home floated through the Halloween aisle and came back with spook-tacular goodies. Our lounge turned fa-BOO-lous—no tricks, just treats—and plenty of high spirits. Thanks to all our ghoul-friends for a hauntingly good time! 🎃

More Puppy love at Nettlestead

It seems there’s something truly special about the way a wagging tail and a pair of big brown eyes can brighten the day. Our four-legged visitor brought plenty of smiles, gentle cuddles, and lots of happy moments. Sometimes, the best therapy comes with a wet nose and a wagging tail. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Meet Flo & Dianne — Our Fortnightly Visitors 🐾✨

Every two weeks, Flo, our PAT (Pets As Therapy) dog, and her wonderful owner Dianne, bring comfort, smiles, and companionship to the residents of Nettlestead. Whether it’s enjoying cuddles indoors or a stroll in our beautiful garden, their visits are truly a highlight of our day. 💛

Our very own Liam gave the audience something special at our Summer Party — the lounge was rocking, and the smiles said it all 🎶💙
The joy was clear to see as residents, families and staff joined in, clapped along, and soaked up the performance. A wonderful afternoon for all.
