Logic alone cannot heal.

The Inner Adult can reason, plan, and reflect.
But logic alone cannot transform frozen trauma, conditioned patterns, or deeply held emotional memories.

In Advanced Hypnotherapy, I help my clients Inner Adult lovingly connect with the emotional aspect of their psyche, The Inner Child, and co-regulate the nervous system at the root cause of the emotional pain, creating safety so the nervous system learns a new way to be.

This can truly be life transforming and I feel very honoured, that I get to sit with people and create such beautiful, meaningful change.

It’s never too late to heal your wonderful inner child💓

This morning I was up early.
I meditated.
I walked to the pool in the rain.
And it felt really good.

Now the weekend is approaching, and I’m noticing something else:
the quiet choices that shape who I’m becoming.
If I meet a friend for a late drink tonight, I won’t be getting up early to train tomorrow.
Neither choice is “wrong”.

But only one serves the long-term journey I’m on.
I’m learning to practice discernment - choosing what truly supports my future self, rather than what feels good in the moment.
As I prepare for a 5km a day for 7 days open-water swim-holiday in May, and ultimately a Channel relay in 2027, these small decisions matter as much as time in the pool.

A calmer mind isn’t built only in meditation.
It’s built in the quiet moments of choosing.

One stroke at a time 🌊
Have a lovely weekend 💓

I’ve said it out loud now, so now it feels even more real!🫣😄
I’ve signed up to swim the English Channel in a relay in September 2027.

Right now I can breaststroke comfortably, I love cold-water sea swims… and crawl? Nope, I can just about do one chaotic length in a swimming pool.

In May this year, I have a stepping-stone challenge: a swimming holiday where I have to be able to swim 5K a day in open water!

This is a journey of becoming.I’ll share bits from the training, the mindset shifts, and the real, messy progress along the way.

Channel relay 2027 - one stroke at a time 🌊🏊‍♀️
Here we go!🪼

Another clip from my most recent vlog post “How can we set boundaries if we’ve learnt to people please” (link in bio)
When we keep others comfortable at the expense of ourselves, we eventually lose touch with who we are.
The result?
Chronic stress.
Anxiety.
Burnout.
And often, quiet resentment.

Boundaries are not about pushing other people away. Boundaries are about coming home to ourselves - and from there we can create authentic heart-centred connections with others💓

This is a clip from my new Vlog post “Do you struggle to say no without feeling guilty?”

If you’d like to watch the full five minute video, click the blog link in my previous post💓

For many of us, people-pleasing started as a protection pattern.
When we sensed disapproval, distance, or tension growing up, our body learnt that being “good” or keeping others happy kept us safe and connected.
But as adults, that same pattern can leave us feeling anxious, resentful, and disconnected from ourselves.

The good news?: Our body always knows when something isn’t right - a tight chest, a knot in the stomach, that quiet feeling of “off.” That’s not weakness. That’s wisdom.

In the full video I share:
🌿 Why people-pleasing is a nervous system response
🌿 How to recognise when you’re in “pleaser mode”
🌿 Small, gentle ways to start setting boundaries that feel safe

It’s not about pushing people away - it’s about coming home to yourself. 💓

You’re not selfish - your nervous system just learnt that pleasing equals safety.

Reconnect with Your Inner Child and Heal from Within

Your inner child holds the key to joy, creativity, and emotional freedom.

Inside each of us lives a part that’s curious, playful, present, brave, and full of joy - our inner child.
But over time, life experiences, trauma, and the pressure to 'fit in' can cause that light to dim. We may hide it, silence it, or numb it away… and in doing so, lose touch with one of the most vital parts of who we are.

Your inner child isn’t just a memory - it’s the source of creativity, spontaneity, and emotional truth. When we reconnect with it, healing and transformation become possible.

That’s exactly what I help clients to do through hypnotherapy.
- Heal old emotional wounds
- Restore joy and creativity
- Feel whole, present, and truly alive

In my latest video, I share more about how we lose touch with our inner child - and how you can begin to reconnect with yours.

If you feel that spark calling to you, I’d love to support you. You don’t have to do it alone.

Get in touch to hear more about how I can help.

Warmest wishes

Childhood trauma may not only be what you think it is.

I’ve just written a blogpost on my website about this - if you’re interested go to www.kirstendahlerup.com for a two minute read💓

If however you are a busy bee or can’t be bothered to head on over to the website then you might be interested in reading some examples of the effects of childhood trauma below

Unresolved childhood trauma can manifest in various ways, including:
* Emotional Dysregulation – Difficulty managing emotions, leading to anxiety, depression, or mood swings.
* Low Self-Esteem – Deep-seated beliefs of unworthiness, guilt, or shame.
* Trust Issues – Struggles with forming healthy relationships due to fear of abandonment or betrayal.
* Physical Symptoms – Chronic pain, fatigue, digestive issues, or autoimmune disorders linked to suppressed trauma.
* Self-Sabotage – Patterns of procrastination, fear of success, or staying in toxic situations due to subconscious programming.
* Addictive Behaviors – Coping mechanisms such as substance abuse, overeating, or workaholism.

The good news is that I have 25 years of experience helping clients rewire unhelpful childhood programming - my London Hypnotherapy practice has been online for the last few years, so you can experience deep healing from the comfort of your own home.
Let me know if I can be of any help💓

Today is International SELF-LOVE day!💓

To me, self love is not about spa days or new purchases. However, it’s about how we speak to ourselves in our internal dialogue and how we treat ourselves.

Is your internal dialogue fear based or friendly?
Do you remember to put your needs before the wants of others?
Are you adding a narrative to life that puts your nervous system on edge or do you allow yourself to appreciate what is and view your life from a positive perspective?

You always have a choice in how you relate to yourself and the world - and Self-love is not selfish, it’s necessary for the health and well-being of your amazing mind, body and soul💓

Meditation, Silence and Presence are the portals to your inner Calm and sense of safety.

The more you practice these states, the better you become at Self regulation i.e helping your nervous system feel safe.

In order to be our authentic selves, we need to feel safe. When our nervous system feels safe, then:
- Our Inner Adult can better make decisions and take actions that serve us long-term.
- Our Inner Child feels free, playful and creative.
- The aspect of our psyche, that knows that we are part of something beyond ourselves is switched on and we can feel that powerful bliss this wisdom evokes..which can help us see things in their true proportions, as well as be more kind and compassionate to ourselves and others🙏

So when you practice Meditation, Silence and Presence you are investing in yourself as well as enriching the world 🧘‍♀️🧘💓
