It is World Parkinson's Day today and we are happy to announce that ten individuals with a Parkinson's diagnosis have been granted a free place for a series of ten Alexander Technique lessons. These places are sponsored by the Walter Carrington Educational Trust who is supporting an initiative to make the Alexander Technique more available to people living with Parkinson's.

Alan Philps, co-director of our teacher training course, will offer general introductory classes to the Alexander Technique on 24th April and 12th June.
If you are new to the Technique and don't want to take the plunge to book an individual lesson (yet), then this is for you! Groups will be small and places are limited, please book in advance.

Last year, the Walter Carrington Educational Trust began a project to provide free workshops in the Alexander Technique to people living with Parkinson's Disease and their carers, as part of its aims to further the work of F. M. Alexander and make it more available to members of the public. The project continues in 2018, beginning with two sponsored workshops taking place on 11th and 25th February at our centre at Imperial Wharf/Chelsea Harbour.

An initiative to make the Alexander Technique more available for people living with Parkinson's supported by the Walter Carrington Educational Trust.
Part of this initiative are two free workshops for people living with Parkinson's and their carers in February (11th and 25th). Followed by up to ten places for a series of ten sponsored individual Alexander Technique lessons for people living with Parkinson's Disease.

A new study of research which looked into the effect of the Alexander Technique on chronic pain, concludes:

"Alexander lessons promote self-efficacy and self-care by imparting knowledge and skills that help people improve the way they live and care for themselves, leading to long-term reduction in chronic neck pain."

A new study of the research which looked into the effect of the Alexander Technique on chronic pain, concludes:

"Alexander lessons promote self-efficacy and self-care by imparting knowledge and skills that help people improve the way they live and care for themselves, leading to long-term reduction in chronic neck pain."
