100 years of grace and determination!

The residents, staff, relatives of Queen Elizabeth House and special guests which included Councillor Jonathan Andrews, Mayor of Bromley and Mayoress/Consort Mrs Theresa Andrews came together to celebrate Mrs Lillian Jean Courtneidge's 100th birthday.
Lillian Jean, who likes to be called Jean, takes pleasure in explaining to all who's willing to listen, that our late, Her Majesty the Queen, Queen Elizabeth and her were born within 3 days of eachother!
Jean has not only reached a great milestone living to 100 years, she has also demonstrated her humanity and care for other's within this time, through her years of charity work. She was awarded The Mayor's Award for her charity work, the medal which she proudly wore on the day.
In referring to Jean's great achievement, The Worshipful, The Mayor Councillor Andrews stated “The Mayoress and I greatly enjoyed visiting Queen Elizabeth House Care Home recently to celebrate the 100th birthday of Mrs Jean Courtneidge – a Bromley resident, and a Mayor of Bromley’s Award winner, awarded for her past voluntary activities locally.
It was wonderful to have the opportunity to speak with Jean (born the same year and month as Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II) about her experiences over her long life – and to present her with not just a card from the Mayoralty, but also her card from Their Majesties The King and Queen.
It was also a pleasure to meet and spend time with Jean’s family and friends (a great many of who came along to celebrate) and many of the home’s other residents. My very best wishes to Jean on this truly special personal milestone.”
Jean's family and her sons who were present for this joyous occasion, expressed "My brother Ian and I, John Courtneidge, wish to thank everyone at Queen Elizabeth House, QEH, for the splendid Celebration of Mum's 100th Birthday at The Home.

The welcome, entertainment, catering by the in-house Kitchen and Hospitality Care Team and arrangements, notably including attendance by The Mayor of The London Borough of Bromley and his Consort, including a Birthday Card from Their Majesties King Charles and Queen Camilla, exemplify the loving care and attention to detail that we have gratefully received from all the excellent Greensleeves' Staff at Queen Elizabeth House, Bickley during Mum's residency at QEH.
Hurrah! and Thanks! to everyone at QEH Bickley!
