When we come to therapy there’s an underlying voice that we might be broken or “not normal” and a general sense of wrongness…which isn’t the case at all, in fact it takes a lot of courage, wisdom and strength to look inwards.

Physical and psychological symptoms are there for us to take action, to let us know something needs our attention.

When we come to therapy we’re not there to “fix”.
We come to therapy to learn how to be with ourselves in a different way - with more awareness, more compassion and more choice.

If the curiosity is there, get in touch for a quick consultation. Always here if you want to talk 👋🏼

Anxiety, racing heart, feeling on edge, however it shows up for you, can feel intense enough to want to push it away 🙅🏻‍♀️🙅‍♂️

Maybe you’ve been told to “just relax” and “breathe” 😳😐

Sometimes what we need to do is meet it and match it. Your anxiety isn’t a personal failure, it’s a nervous system asking for safety. And at times we need to meet the energy in order to soften into it.

This is the heart of my therapeutic work.

DM me ‘nervous system’ if you want to learn more.

You here now are a culmination of many factors including past experiences, core held beliefs, sensory input, conscious awareness/what we choose to focus on, and of course our current mood and emotions. This mixing pot of information can impact how we view the world.

Attuning to our nervous system and how it shows up for us provides rich information we can work with. We work towards supporting our nervous system and honouring it in its capacity rather than trying to push it away with a quick fix.

Being gentle with ourselves and listening to the wisdom of our bodies can give us exactly what we need in the moment.

We heal in relationship - not in isolation.

There’s a lot of talk about regulating our nervous system and I wanted to share some information on how important it is to be with others when learning to self-regulate if this wasn’t available to you previously.

Safety is learned through attuned relational experiences and may be why self-care isn’t always enough. It’s perfectly normal and natural to need support. Being with others that make you feel safe and supported can make a huge difference in your own internal cues of safety.

Once the body feels safe, it can then begin working towards self-regulation.

I have a handful of spaces available for private 121 Yoga Therapy or Integrative Psychotherapy sessions. Get in touch to book your spot.

Learning when we are feeling off-balance can be such a powerful tool to let us know we need time out.

Whether that means taking a few breaths to ground, some sofa time with a book, or someone to call to help share some thoughts.

Acknowledging stress and noticing the effects it has on our bodies can be helpful in noticing what is or isn’t helpful with dealing with it.

Listen to the wisdom of your body and noice what it ia trying to tell you.

If you want to learn more about connecting to yourself and ways to reduce stress, get in touch.

Healthy stress is a part of daily life. It teaches us how to cope with the demands received and also enables us to respond to future stressors in a contained way.

No-so-healthy-stress however, works against us and begins to put extra demands and strain on our bodies that can also lead to unhealthy coping strategies.

It’s important we listen to our internal cues of stress - how we might feel overwhelmed, our breath rhythm might feel different or we might notice a rapid heartbeat - noticing these and self regulating can help manage and reduce the feeling of stress.

As we approach a very busy time of the year in all aspects. Whether it’s trying to buy some groceries within a hectic supermarket or grabbing those last minute presents on your to-do list.

Sometimes life can feel a little overwhelming and thats ok. We aren’t wired to have it together all of the time!

What we do have is the ability ti ground and resource ourselves when we feel we may need to help self regulate.

This can be by noticing our body in the space we are in. Feel into the feet and what it’s like to press your toes into the ground and as you do this, breathe a little deeper into your belly to decrease the activation that might be happening within.

As we start connecting to our internal world, it really does help how we perceive our environment.

However you navigate the festive season, ensure you make time to nurture and honour yourself 🌱

If you feel like you’re carrying too much, emotionally, mentally or physically, I offer a grounded, embodied, integrative space to soften, regulate and reconnect. The perfect gift to yourself to step into steadiness in amongst the busyness of life.

Thanking from for this beautiful quote 🙏🏽

Everything about this runs deep to my core and has been the drive of the work I do ✨🌈✨

When we open our hearts to love, to connection and to showing others just what a miracle they are and how their space in the world is so waiting for them to shine in their joy, it just hits different.

Magnifying others mirrors right back at you. When you hold others in love, in joy, in happiness you only open yourself up to bathing in the love, the joy and the happiness 💗

What is it you’re made for ✨

Opening your heart to your soul 🔥 that which fills you and not the version of you think you need to be

It can feel difficult to tap into your inner essence, the spark within that gives you life and makes you feel truly alive, but it’s not impossible 💫

People come to therapy for so many reasons, you don’t actually need a reason though do you? You can allow the curiosity of what it may bring to guide you

Therapy isn’t something that is done for you, it’s something you do for yourself 💁🏻‍♀️💁🏻‍♂️💁🏻 of course you can be directed towards areas to ponder but ultimately the decision, the work, the therapy is done by YOU to yourself. You choose if you do the work. You choose how far to take it.

A space to reflect to analyse, to wonder, to process, to surrender to, to stop and think *IS* this _insert XYZ_ what fulfils me and is this a life i want to lead

Make time for you, you’re the only one that can do this

Nestled into the little corner of my room is my hideaway, my sanctuary. A safe space where I can return time after time in any frame of mind and just know that it’s got me 🧘🏻‍♂️
Although it merely looks like a yoga mat on the floor 😬 it has greater depth and meaning to it and of course it has encouraged me to enjoy my movement practice 🤸🏽‍♀️
This little space allows me to be with. It gives me space to reflect and to feel. I sometime lay here out of frustration, sometimes I cry, other times I move and laugh ✨
Allowing ourselves to take sanctuary in whatever we feel will hold us, gives us the space to be seen, be heard and be held. From this space we can tap into what is calling for our attention and perhaps a space to surrender and yield.
Do you have a little hideaway? Id love for you to share your spaces with me.

Love flows through ♥️
But so does responsibility, vulnerability and fear 🧿

I faced a very challenging week with my little one. A week that will forever be etched in my psyche.

To witness someone you love, so deeply connected to, fight to stay alive, is a sight I don’t ever want to revisit. Not to mention bringing up to the surface old woulds from the past, a grief that felt like I was going to have to look at it in the eyes again but this time in the form of my son.

So very fortunate for us he overcame the battle and was able to pull through. Believe me when I say I don’t take this for granted ♥️🙏🏽🧿

I helplessly held his hand, stroked his face and looked up to the stars. My stomach churned to remind me of our one precious life and how in a moment, all can change.

What stood out so strongly was Love. The love i had within me for him, the love I wanted to keep giving him and the love we will always share between us, in us and surrounding us ♥️

My heart is forever within you little one, within both of you 🩷💙 how unbelievably grateful mummy is to have you both here with me.
