As psychologists and therapists we are very aware of how difficult it can be to make this first step in seeking outside help. We specialise in working with low self-esteem, depression, low mood, generalised anxiety, worry, stress, panic disorder, loss of confidence and relationship issues. Our belief, is that difficult life events, past or present, can often leave us feeling vulnerable, nervous, d
issatisfied, lonely and unable to see any sense of purpose or meaning in our lives. We are a team of highly experienced 'integrative' counsellors /psychotherapists/ Life coaches. We have a broad understanding of most of the main therapeutic models. This means that we can tailor the therapy to suit the unique needs of each person by drawing on aspects and techniques from a number of different approaches. We are happy to introduce you to Mindfulness techniques and training during our work together. We firmly believe that by providing you with a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment, we can work as a team, to begin to explore new pathways, consider new possibilities and help you develop new ways to manage your life more effectively. When we both have a greater understanding and clearer awareness of the part we play in maintaining and keeping our problems going, we can then 'gradually' begin, at your pace, to make some positive present and long-term changes. How we feel, think and behave are incredibly interwoven and once we gain appropriate control over these areas we can start to unlock our hidden 'true' potential, start to 'feel' better and with that comes a greater sense of 'choice'. This is where, we hope, we can help you to understand yourself and play a small part in your journey of discovery, your discovery of a greater sense of well-being and contentment, that is already within you. Our aim and goal as therapists is to seek to understand your experience of life from your perspective and help you develop new techniques and ideas that you can then draw from, for the rest of your life. The thought of making changes is often difficult and scary but very possible. In my personal and professional experience, we all develop bad habits, you can label or diagnose them as psychological disorders or mental health conditions, if you want! Habits/dysfunctional patterns of behaviour that have been hanging around for a long time are bound to be hard to break, however, once clearly identified and understood they can soon be sent packing, like the confronted bully that never bothers you again.
