Young people tend to trust what they learn about politics in school more than what they see on social media, but schools aren't providing them with enough education about democracy 🗳️

Good democratic education can help create fairer access to politics for young people, but right now it’s unevenly accessed and inconsistent.

We believe in strengthening democratic education for young people. Schools and colleges can play a vital role in supporting all young people - regardless of background - to develop the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed to participate in democracy and navigate political information effectively.

Did you know you can see how political parties in the UK are being funded? 🔍

Parties must report the donations they receive to us. We publish this for transparency.

Political parties accepted almost £65m in donations in 2025.

Our latest release covers October – December 2025. Almost £15.5m in donations were accepted.

This compares to nearly £7.5m in the same period in 2024, and over £24.3m in the previous quarter (July - September 2025).

Welcome to Your Vote Week 2026 is next week!
📆 9 - 15 March

Every year we invite schools, youth groups, and local elections teams to join us in celebrating democracy by running activities that help young people understand how it works and how to get involved.

We want to support young people to develop the knowledge and confidence they need to cast their vote, and discover other ways to get involved in democracy.

Keep an eye out as we explore why voting matters 🗳️
