As a student in strength training and the powerlifting world 🌎, there is nothing worst than when you set goals and not meet them.
It can be humbling yet painful. So many weeks and months of hard work, rehabbing, fuelling, and then bombing out when you least expect it.
For me this has happened a lot on this journey and I’m 100% happy that it has because it’s made me the person I am today.
Stepping on the platform or in the gym and failing at a specific goal in mind has truly broken my confidence in some ways at that specific time. I’m only human (sometimes I feel like a unicorn hulk 🦄 - but let’s not go there 😂).
There is a reason I share my photos, videos, stories or even one of MY best habits = as a coach I always video my clients last set of each lift 😆 yes, I don’t look for perfection, I look for authentic form to then make them better!! It’s not compulsory, only with my clients it is 😎 and for myself to my Coach
But getting to what I want to say, I can tell you that there are many successful people that have failed along their journey in the world of lifting or sports. Nobody likes to hear or watch it but it happens. As a ‘baby’ competitor in the world of powerlifting thanks to , I don’t only want the participation award 🥇 I come in the training room or on the platform to beat my last personal record 📈
Yes, unfortunately, there wont be successful wins all the time. Not in the training room or platform.
But remember as cliche as it sounds, we all fail and when we do, we overcome it by getting better in whatever way we can. It’s all part of GROWTH.
⭐️ ACCEPT FAILURE IS OKAY
⭐️ LEARN TO CONTROL YOUR EMOTIONS
⭐️ DO NOT GIVE UP
Suck it up! Whether you like it or not, we’ll all fail in something at some point in our lives.
This is why I love competing and respect those that do in any sport.
Win or Lose, I always walk away learning more about ME. Learning to conquer my emotions with a logical approach. And how failure is an opportunity for more improvement.
